I just finished deciding on a couple of books to buy: first and foremost, trout and salmon flies of Scotland, then I found a similar one for Ireland… Then I sign into KZbin and see this! Love it! Another awesome video!

Brilliant again Davie, even as a traditional tier my favourite quote from this video “ you don’t always have to follow the rule book” is good advice, l instinctively improvise frequently

Very nice tie. Thank you. We use a similar fly in the NE US that uses Wood Duck for the wing. Very effective when fished just below the surface.

Davey, thank you so much for the explanation of the teal feathers the different types shapes and sizes patterns on each feather and their uses for tails wings, etc. this makes a world of difference for me as I am currently sorting through waterfowl feathers that were plucked after hunts from friends during last season. Thanks for everything and for the bizarrely perfect timing on the video!

Used to fish size 8 t&g , bottle green, during sedge hatch. Think it looked like the female returning to lay eggs

I can never seem to find any videos on KZbin fishing the wet fly patterns. It's always dry fly or Czech nymph patterns.

SO it may be a big ask but i think the "transcript " gets your accent guess may be not 100% accurate - would you mine listing these buy the row the names - i have a 1938copy of Bergman's Trout - and I like to duplicate these "traditional" patterns that flight of your "small" sampling need sot be in one of my boxes,,, :). but i can not really hear the names.. thanks in advance
