When I started making videos on Elden Ring DLC music, I left Promised Consort for last because I knew it was going to be an absolute banger given how many people were suggesting it. This might be not only one of the most impressive tracks in elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree, but possibly one of the most intense themes I've ever heard.

Uhmmmm.... @DaviVasc , I kinda wonder how you could possibly miss Miquella in the base game. I mean, the most significant demigod with two flowers, one butterfly and several weapons, npc's and bosses basically directly referencing him? The focus of the DLC? ^^;; Keep your eyes and ears open when playing the game, k?

17:34 at this point you can hear Radahn' choir come back for a bit, but way more quiet until the female vocals become even more intense almost cutting off Radahn' choir, I like to think of it as a window to show just how much of an overwhelming hold Miquella has on Radahn, tragic and beautiful

When I learned who the Promised Consort was, I immediately thought two things. 1. It darn well better have the same melody as phase 2 of the original fight. 2. How would they make a solemn funeral march into something epic? Well, by Gwyn did they do both, because phase 1 has Proof of a Hero levels of "let's f*cking go" energy.

In the original Starscourge Radahn song, phase one was the memory of who he was, the warrior who ruled the battlefield. Phase two by contrast was a eulogy almost of the horror he has become, the beast he was degraded to. But then we get to Promised Consort Phase 1. And it is glorious. It's the Lion, returned to his prime. A moment worth celebrating far and wide. But even that has a small hint of sadness at the end, for said Lion has been leashed by a "kindly" master.
@midnight6284
@midnight6284 2 ай бұрын
God damn I can hear exactly what your talking about, the somber tones going into phase 2 is exactly that feeling of Radahn being leashed, and then the rest of the song is primarily Miqeualla, that's amazing

It's so fitting what you say, especially since Radahn and Miquella mirror Godfrey and Serosh in a way, Serosh being the lion who held back Hoarah Loux's blood thirst and Miquella holding back Radahn (The Lion)'s blood thirst.

This fight is the first time to my knowledge, in the entire soulsborne series where we are facing a true god, at the height of their power. no fall from grace over thousands of years, no evil force weakening them, They are a truly Divine force and the fight itself matches that, as it is the single hardest fight fromsoft have ever made, seriously it is Psychotic how cracked this boss is.

I love the fact they specifically reused the second part of Starscourge Radahns OST because it represents his former self before the scarlet rot. It’s a reminder of Radahns prime as true warrior, not a mindless beast. It makes sense because that’s exactly who you’re fighting on your final encounter with the mightiest demi god. It’s also an amazing detail that the loudest voice in phase 2 is Miquellas. After ascending godhood into he now stands above everyone and everything. Thousands of other voices, instruments and percussion play at the same time but not even a single one of them manages to drown out Miquellas heavenly prayers. One of the best soundtracks they ever made. The contrast of Radahns irrational lust for war and Miquellas dream of an age of compassion was executed perfectly.

It's impossible to describe how much this OST just enters your body during this fight and you have, what I can only describe as a feeling of pure elation. In some From fights the OST can be more of a background that you may sometimes not hear due to focus on the boss. Not here. This tracks just WANTS your attention, music fights you with the boss, its so loud and you have to hold back the intense emotional reaction you feel because of hearing it. I know this final boss is....controversial (I for one adore it) but u can't deny this theme is outstanding, up there with the best in Fromsoft. Phase 1 feels like a 'complete' version of the Starscourge theme, marking the triumphant return of the strongest demigod, far closer to his prime power. And phase 2 is magical, marking the ascension of the newest god in the lands between, who seeks to exude their 'age of compassion' irrespective of the opinion of others . Happy but out of place is accurate, Miquella truly is terrifying Also I want to immortalise 8:32-it's so insanely funny and relatable

The composers at FromSoft really knock it out of the park when someone who has not played the DLC can just listen to the music and gather: - the presence of Miquella - entering a new world/age - disturbing sense of benevolence standing where hostility should be - feeling that this new creation is so far above / away from us that we should not even be here

I think this has to be the most epic song I've ever heard in the history of for ever, it's so good you can go back in time and present this to an audience and they'll think the gates of heaven have opened and God is coming in our aid

The reason this has some melodies id radahn’s base game these is that this boss is the younger version of him revived with the assistance of miquella

The fact this dude recognized the male chorus in 1st phase from Starscourge Radahn is baffling because not even I recalled that

Theres a video by AirRice that combines both the first phase of Pronised Consort Radahn, and the second phase of Starscourge Radahn, and they fit very well with each other. I dont know if you want to make a video out of reacting to both versions being played at the same time, but its worth checking out.

If you haven't, you should listen to the Gwyndolyn theme from DS1 and then react to the Aldrich track from DS3, that is played as Gwyndolyn is being eaten alive during the boss fight. My impression is that the really captured how the Aldrich theme is consuming the Gwyndolyn theme.

The 2nd phase makes me feel like I am fighting a hero and not a villain at all. It feels like it is Miquella who is trying to overcome the Tarnished and not otherwise.

That other melody you recognized during the first fight might've been from another boss considering how this fight comes to be. I could be wrong and it's still from Radahn, will try to listen to everything after I finished your reaction though. I didn't mind dying to this because the music is so awesome but ultimately I was able to overcome this boss battle. It definitely was an intense experience and I'm glad I waited with watching reactions to the bosses until I was done.
