red-eyed tree frog are one of the most common pet amphibians, and on my last day in Costa Rica, I look into how they are living in the wild so we better know how to care for them in our homes/ Agalychnis callidryas, known as the red-eyed tree frog, is an arboreal hylid native to Neotropical rainforests where it ranges from Mexico, through Central America, They are the most recognizable frog in the world!

I'm gonna say this again Dav you have one of the most underrated channels on here. Your vids and the educational is by far the best. Nobody else is going out and showing us how they live in the wild and the educational part of it has well if there is another channel doing this yours is the best brother.

Yaaaay dav! Red eyed tree frogs where always my fav as a kid. And we have some weird tree frogs here in the upper peninsula that hangout all over this one light house right by me here.. Its haunted supposedly all i know is there's tons of sticky footed tree frogs all over the thing inside. Ill try finding a pic and dming you it. Or better yet lets go herping up here this year guyssss 😅😲💛 happy new year hope this year treats all of us a little better.

@@davkaufmansreptileadventures one day my friend we will herp up here.. There alot more turtles frogs toads etc than people think in a place that is this cold. I think it would make a fantastic video. Specially when everyone comes out in spring the biiig pine snakes etc. Of course you can knock out a fishing adventure or two up here too 😉😁😅 I mean we are having a cold snap right now its only 10 outside with over a foot of snow and ice supposed to be -10 over night by the end of the week.. Always wondering about the cold blooded etc animals when this happens ya know. I almost feel bad about it hahaha. But yes haunted places are def my favorite. Its the stonington lighthouse on the stonington peninsula.

@@mikeayers8951 could very well be.. We just call them sticky foots cause well.... They have sticky feet lmao. Theyre all over the place right in that one specific area. And thats the place all the monarch butterflies migrate too also. The entire peninsula at the very end that has the lighthouse im talking about is a gathering place for the butterflies too. Its beautiful im sure if you search upper peninsula stonington peninsula butterflies itll show you it. Beautiful.

I want a reptile or amphibian but my mom keeps it like 65F in our home and our humidity is like 17 percent on a good day, I am afraid I won't be able to maintain the proper temps and humidity. I have never owned a long term pet reptile I use to find them at my childhood homes from box turtles to frogs but I never kept them more than a day or even that long cause I knew as a child they wouldn't want to live in my house. I need some help from an experienced person who knows reptile habitats. I need to know what would be the best solution to seal the inside of a wood-built habitat, base and side, where dirt/substrate will see moisture and all the other things Tegu lizards do? I will be building the 4 x 8 bottom half enclousure soon. I will paint the outside with some sort of durable paint to make look nice but I want the inside to be as tough as nails and last years.

Would I be correct in assuming the same care would apply to Lemur leaf frogs? I'm struggling to find comprehensive care guides for the species. Also what would be the best method to maintain that temperature in a paludarium that's in 75 degrees day/night ambient temps? In an Exoterra 36x36x18 Paludarium I have a mistaking set to go off 4 times per day @20 seconds and an ink bird controlled exhaust fan on the lighthood to maintain humidity. TIA!
