i would say around 700Rs (600 for cheese kottu alone) you were slightly over charged. but it is not a ripoff , in Jaffna some items might be hard to come by compared to Colombo, so it can be expected to be little expensive considering logistics

I felt like it’s not a good cheese and chicken kottu. Little bit of milk should be added to highlight the milky flavor. Too much oil and veges, Chicken with lots of bones and the price is too high. 950 for that kottu 🙆‍♂️ that cashier is a scammer. If anyone here from Jaffna go to this place and tell that cashier to do his job fairly without ripping their customers off

Hi Davud 🙂 Been watching your content from your first video in Sri lanka, and i like your style of not cutting videos and showing the entire experience 🙂 Been meaning to comment on one thing, yes sri lankans DO eat with their hands, and yes food tastes better when you eat with your fingers; BUT the main reason for it to taste better is coz you can mix all the flavors and textures with your fingers.. And i know you always eat with your hands coz you want do to things the local way. BUT, with KOTTU, even sri lankans use a spoon brother.. it’s way easier, you dont burn or soil your fingers, AND you dont need to mix flavours coz in a kottu it’s already mixed 😃 so, basically, in my opinion (and i’m sure other sri lankans will agree) kottu is best eaten with a spoon. And you can get the full experience of taste and texture without the distraction of sensations from your hands. 🙂All the best for the rest of your stay, and i HOPE you get the best of all experiences inspite of the laguage barrier. It is a bit expensive, the price should be around 600 -700. But due to their struggles with gas /electricity, this won’t be a big deal. Next time you can ask prices before ordering foods. Then you can decide whether you can eat there or not.

Normally when making cheese kottu we add fresh milk also. But I didn't see they adding fresh milk. And normally cheese kottu price is can go Rs.600- Rs.900 with what kind of meat they using for the kottu. But for chicken cheese one Rs.950 is little bit expensive bro. When talking about kottu, my best kottu experience is in Mount Lavinia - Road House (near the Lion's Pub). Delicious and good hygiene. Little bit expensive than restaurants but worth to try.

For wok cheese kottu they use milk, not for flat iron made traditional style kottu cause all the milk will spill out. They make cheese kottu like this at pillawoos colpitty as well (the place that invented cheese kottu)

Brother , koththu is not a traditional food in srilanka but the most comon food that you can find in every corner of srilanka . There are specific foods that originally belong to each part of srilanka . Jaffna is known for it's sea food, vegies and grapes 🍇 also palmyra(kind of a palm tree) roots, its toddy , jaggery etc..

Hi Davud brother, this is not good restaurant in Jaffana. There are so many nice restaurants and very quality foods and cheaper than here. The best Traditional food in Jaffana 1. Rice & Curry 2. String hoppers and curry 3. Dosa and sambal or sambar 4. Idly & chadney

Different towns in Sri Lanka might have different pricing standards. Brother, the best is to ask the price or check the menu with price list displayed on the walls before you order. That way you know you are paying local price. Being generous is fine but getting ripped off isn’t. Enjoy Sri Lanka.

The price is bit expensive. Usually a cheese and chicken kottu would cost is around Rs.600 to Rs.700. But here they did add 3 cheese pcs hence the it’s worth even though it’s expensive. Kottu might have been more delicious if they add some milk as well.

The price is worth it brother. He used good amount of cheese and fair amount of chicken. This also includes the price of drink. I think its definitely a richer kottu(3 cheese pieces) than what we typically get on the road side. Do not forget they are also using generators to power up the hotel, considering all this its not expensive.

Tourists hardly visit jaffna. They have no idea how to cater to a visitor. Arangment of the kotthu plate looks horrible. For this eatery it's not worth paying anything more than rs 400/=. In anywhere in Srilanka with clean & Nice looking places including air-condition hotels with excellent service willcharge maximum of rs 950/=. Jaffna fellow s ripped you off . If the people of jaffna want rectify it few tourists who are visiting there will also stop. Sorry for the ripping you off by rhis greedy fellows. I garantee it will never ever happen anywhere else in Srilanka.

Hi, in total you paid LKR. 1050 means around USD 3.00 or 3.50. So ifcyou deduct LKR 250 for soft drink and water bottle, cost of the kottu was around LKR 800.00 or 850.00

To be honest it's expensive. If it's for a local it should be around 450-600. If you are in Sri Lanka, always ask for the prices in advance when they are not displying the prices. Sometimes these shops do this for locals when they know they are not regular customers.

They made it extra special for u. with a lot more vegitables than usualy put. and even used 3 wedges of cheese. normally we get one or two. thats why the price may have been high. in sri lanka food is expensive now. normal kottu is made with limited amount of ingredients to maintain a price. extra stuff means jacked up price. and they also made sure to reduce the spice for u. normally Jaffna food is know to make your eyes run... but absolutly Yum

you should try the local food when you are down south made out of home grown veg etc. These are severed in buffet style, rice and many curries. All healthy and nutricious without the addition of chemicals.
