I think my favorite bit is Alex and Joel dodging in response to Davy's "Dangerous" status. Doubles as a way to stop the player from trivializing the fight too much with Flame Burst and an accurate portrayal of what any player behind Alex and Joel would do.

honestly i was surprised at the quality of the fight vs the gang, even though it's an AI therefore the strategies they use aren't perfect, it looked quite dangerous to be facing them due to geen and alex, absolutely amazing work

This is sick. I love all the details you added, the statuses particularly. The animations are no joke either. This whole fight felt like it had all of the synergy of the team as if they were being played by a person itself. Absolutely amazing work.

Thanks! Yeah I'm glad you appreciate the system I made for them, I like making enemies that are dynamic and use skills based on the situation (even if it means just restricting, allowing and forcing certain skills when some condition is met). Also finally someone mentions the status effects! I've always wanted to make a mod where Joel not only scares the character into thinking he will shoot, but the actual player too, feels more real that way

@@TripleAy I definitely thought he would shoot. It was pretty ingenious of you to use the +dangerous status effect as a fake out, when it's never been used that way before. My inital reaction was "wait he's really gonna fire his gun??" Although there's not really much you can do in reaction though. What I mean is that Davy himself doesn't really have a 'dodge' move so the only thing a player can do is guard. (which I doubt the player would do because they would assume it would just obliterate them) If Davy had a dodge move that heavily punished him like alex going off balance, etc etc it would be a perfect way of pulling a fast one over the player, causing them to lose several turns and resources. It's pretty funny that AI Joel can potentially trick the player into thinking he'll fire the gun when that's what you do when you're playing as him. Kino.

could you tell me the logic behind alex and joel's responses to davy's dangerous stats? I'm trying to figure out how to make enemies react to status effects in RPG maker aswell, I guess it's something in the battle event page?

at the end of every turn, it checks if davy has the dangerous state and turns a switch on/off depending on it, then both alex and joel have a skill set to only be used if that switch is on with priority 10
