The control center is provided by Clevo, the company that manufactured the chassis. Thunderobot just puts their own branding on it. You can buy the same model just with slightly different exterior treatments from a variety of sellers all over the world.

@@GorujoCY2 yeah I know for a fact that PCSpecialist uses both clevo and tongfang chassis hence why they have a popular 3080 model that's literally identical to MEDION's. I considered buying the MEDION seeing the price but after learning that the chassis can reach 55 degrees in spots and it sounds like an aircraft engine I went with a 3070 legion 7 lol. i'll happily lose 10% performance if it means avoiding 1st degree burns everytime I boot up cyberpunk.

@@StayMadNobodycares It simply means the SSD comes from a major OEM not an unnamed brand. Being from a particular brand isn't an indicator of quality or performance, in fact any major OEM can produce both S-tier and crap tier drives (as we see from WD Green SSD and Crucial BX500, etc.). I also deal with OEM desktops and laptops fairly often (mostly Dell, occasionally HP) and see they ship with Samsung/WD/Kioxia OEM SSD models as well as some lesser known SSD companies but are still subsidiary of the larger OEMs. Most of the time I would swap them out for an after-market drive with larger capacity and better performance.

Compare to WD Samsung or micron(even the new Chinese independent R&D brand Zhitai), Toshiba, or new Kioxia, is the worst in any other different levels of product, it's not stable, it's slow compare to same price's product, I had a Toshiba rc500(kioxia rebranded to rc10) read 8.2tb write 1.8tb and guess what, health percentage drops to 81%, speed is really slow, avg. r&w is around 1700m/s and i never saw any other brand's ssd behave like this, even before this, my old Toshiba TR200 won't recognize, my kioxia usb drive won't recognize and i lost all my data, my two Toshiba hdd had drive failure for no reason at all(other WD drive is all good) i promise i will never use any Japanese storage product ever again.

It looks remarkably similar to both the Gateway and Evoo laptops I purchased over the past six months, just with potentially better moulding, and a metal top-plate. It looks plasticky, but is actually built better than a lot of other laptops I've owned (looking at you Dell), especially at the hinges. Metal carries almost the entirety of the weight, without significant metal to plastic connections and the laptop still works after 5 years of college use.

One of the things i learned living in Asia is that they are generally quite proud of their laptops, and price them accordingly. in the US and Canada, laptops seem to be much more like "well, I guess you can't handle a desktop" where as in Asia, it's sort of a lifestyle choice. When you said homework at the start of the video it reminded me of some homework that I had to do before 8pm tonight that made up a decent bit of my grade, and might ultimately cause me to fail the course had I not completed it. Thanks to Dawid, I did my homework. If you guys need to get your homework done, watch Dawid Does Tech Stuff.

I got so lucky finding a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro at Walmart, it was clearanced down to $899 for a Ryzen 7 5800H/RTX 3070 with 16GB of RAM and a 512GB drive. That thing is built amazingly well, stays cool and quiet and has a 16" 2560x1600 screen. Only downside is the heft.

I have this _exact_ chassis on my desk right now, it's my work laptop. Those little plastic bits on the back corners where the LCD meets the chassis? They snap off lol. Both my boss and my laptop have had that happen! Mine has a 11000 series i7 and a 2060 in it, as mine is a couple years old. Mine is a "Metabox" -- but they're all just Clevo machines re-branded lol. And yes it is INCREDIBLY loud.

I got a Gigabyte G5-KD with an i5-11400H and an RTX 3060 (105W) for about 900€ in Germany. It performs pretty well, is also very loud and has the same control center, which is just the standard software from the manufacturer „Clevo“. A lot of brands just use Clevo as a supplier and slap their branding on it. All in all a pretty good deal for the performance you get, I mainly use it for LAN parties or for controller gaming on the TV in the living room. At the time, it was the only reasonable option under 1000€ with an RTX 3060 (105W). All the other cheap gaming laptops were either much more expensive or just had a loser 3050.

Beware control center with break eventually and any rgb or fan control goes out the window. Had control center 2.0 on a digital storm laptop which was also a clevo laptop and they don’t even update there software.

Honestly, if you look on Newegg for a 12700H and RTX 3050 laptop, the cheapest one is about $1239USD (which is around $1700CAD) which, while cheaper than the featured laptop from Thunder Robot, it's not by much.

that... looks suspiciously similar to my acer predator helios 300. it's identical inside. even the terrible speakers check. looks cheaper outside though. anway, if it's anything like my laptop, the way to open it is to put it in your lap or a table in front of you upside down with the vents facing back (so, the right orientation for use, just upside down), grab the vents with your fingers while putting a little pressure on the middle of the shell as if you're lightly bending it. the whole cover will come out gracefully in one piece, no prying needed.

Your specific example costs 1169 euros here in the Netherlands. With today's value, that's about the same number in usd. except I know that for the AliExpress laptop I would have to pay import tax, so that would be an awful deal. AliExpress used to be able to sneak phones and other tech into the country without having to pay taxes, so it'd undercut the local market, but there's a new rule since like 3 years ago and it singlehandedly killed aliexpress for everyone. Because customs has like a 15 dollar charge before the %, meaning that all the 3 dollar crap would become like 18 after customs.
