I never liked meat, I was always disusted by it...so going plant based was so easy for me. Only bought soy burgers two time in a few years, and that also only for guests.... I don't miss anything. Like she said, I opened my mind to soooo many new foods that I didn't even know existed!🌱🌱

I love that Lucky made such a public appearance, she is a sweet girl. I also love how you stress kindness - that is the basis of humanity. Veganism, plant-based, whatever you want to call it really does consist of the three components that you mentioned - animal welfare, human health, and environmental impact. When we change the way we eat (and what we eat), we have the trifecta!

I really enjoyed this interview it was extremely informative. I’m going to take advantage of the websites mentioned. I’m new to being Vegan. My pastor had encouraged me to pray about becoming Vegan, so I prayed & 10 months I’m still Vegan. I’m healthy and energetic, happy and I recently celebrated my birthday with a vegan cake! I’m going to use Dawn’s resources to locate Vegan educational opportunities.

I found out that vegan doesn't necessarily mean healthy. MY children would buy me vegan desserts knowing that I eat healthy eliminating sugar,dairy, meat etc.etc.etc ( thinking that this "VEGAN" restaurant had to be using some healthy alternative to sugar). However those VERY EXPENSIVE cakes, pies, ice cream, cupcakes etc.etc.etc tasted "sickinglly" sweet. You could have knocked me over with a feather when I went there with my little granddaughter to treat her to some HEALTHY ice cream, and was told when I asked ..."what do you use to sweeten ".. ...DOMINO SUGAR😯😖🤮

I appreciate you!! I, like you, want to pass on the dietary issues of eating meat & anything animal fat; which includes dairy. I am concerned with growing my own food. I even want to show people-particularly those that look like me-what it is to be proud about growing your own food, hence veganism. You can’t change the habits that you were born with. Immediately, anyway. Here’s to you for your change. And I want to say bless you!!! Thank you for who you are! And remain Blessed & you will. Much love to you!!!

The best way to think about those meat alternatives is to remember that, at least back in the late 60s and early 70s, we didn’t go out to eat that much and fast food was a luxury not a part of our weekly meal habit. So think of them as a once in a while treat. Stay as close to the plant as possible. The farther you get out from the plant and the more processed, though worse that food is for you.

I guess you did not see the video she posted claiming she was racially profiled and threatened by a white police officer. The bodycam video showed clearly she lied about the entire incident. For this reason I think her integrity is very questionable. She was lucky the officer did not sue her for lying and defamation.

I just tried vegan burgers today for the first time. But what I can say is I never made the choice to stop eating meat I was forced by my spouse. He literally told me what the meat does to me. We’re pescatarian right now but shouldn’t it be a choice on the person not to be forced because your spouse told you to?
@michellehashish53412 жыл бұрын
I'm transitioning to whole food plant based diet. I don't miss meat at all and love my bean & lentil dishes. My husband still eats meat though. I was omnivore when we met and first 10 yrs of our marriage, so won't force him to change. He is very happy to eat vegan food 3-4 times a week though as he has Mediterranean heritage - even though his family were not vegetarian, it is common in his culture to eat vegetarian meals a few times a week, such as lentil soups, falafel, chickpeas etc.
@VeganLinked2 жыл бұрын
Thank you all so much for watching and commenting! We are all here learning and trying to do our best I think. I hope you don't mind me sharing my take on this.... To an extent it's a personal choice what we eat. But that line ends when it starts crossing the line into the lives of other sentient beings. It can only truly be personal when it only affects the individual. But when someone eats an animal it results in abuse and slaughter of the animal and therefore is no longer merely personal to the individual alone. As for relationships, it would be hard for me to be in a relationship with someone who eats animals. Agains it is not merely personal because eating animals is detrimental to that person's health. So I wouldn't want to deal with my partner hurting their self over and over and then have to deal with them developing self inflicted chronic diseases. Furthermore, they are exposing the vegan in the relationship to something that most likely causes them emotional distress. Because when I see loved ones eating animals I not only fear for their health but I also am saddened about the animal that was abused and slaughtered needlessly. So it hurts my feelings every time I see it and if my loved one truly loved me I don't think they would want to put me through that every time they decide to eat the bodies and secretions of nonhuman animals. Ideally food would not be so invasive to other animals both non human and human. I interviewed a man who is 70 years old and has been vegan from birth and I love how he says food is just energy to do great things. So it's not really about that transient moment of being stimulated from some habitual acquired taste. It ideally would simply be fuel to do great things and not get in the way of relationships or another animal's inherent right to live free of harm and exploitation and slaughter. ❤

@@VeganLinked I understand your perspective. It does bother me my husband still wants to eat meat, it is not an issue I am going to force though. I am the one that suddenly changed my eating habits. I heard soy is dangerous and where or what do we do for protein.dont know if I can afford to be a vegan.
@VeganLinked2 жыл бұрын
Soy is not dangerous. Isolated soy protein can be. But that goes for most things that are processed. Edamame for example is an incredibly perfect food. But there are endless types of legumes, so many different kinds you would never be able to try them all. And they are the cheapest foods on the planet. You can do your own sprouts and there's endless variety there too and those are superfoods and again the cheapest way to get your cruciferous veggies. You can Google, or search cheap vegan on KZbin, Facebook, etc. And find infinite ideas.

Study of our original diet in genesis chapter 1:29 we must use the bible as our text book dress reform is just as critical. God so loved the world that He gave us His only begotten son that whomsoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting lasting life. In the earth made new we will plant vineyards and build houses to live in. It's all about the surrender of our will to that of JESUS CHRIST. She is correct we should not smoothie our food nor should we mix fruits and vegetables because they cause fermentation which causes diseases. We still have to learn simplicity which means total dependence on the word of God which is JESUS CHRIST.
