From the lore, it's possible that they could ally because not ALL Necron's want to end life in the universe, but the way they did it in that case was pretty bad, Necrons being tired and Blood Ravens finding something distasteful. The Space Marine's would be the ones that can't be reasoned with, being all genocidal and what-not.

The only races that cannot be reasoned with at ALL is likely the orks and the tyranids, although a fight between them would last for a LONG time.

Infantry Tau Firewarrior - Poor Sight Range can equip 4 Rifles Tau Pathfinder - Scout Unit Very Good Sight Range Can Detect Hidden Units can equip 2 railguns. Stealth Team - Oddly enough this is most basic Infantry unit can be upgraded with anti building weapons and jet packs. Elite Stealth Team - Bigger Version of the stealth team. Broadside Suits - 2 long range suits equiped with rail guns. Long Range low range of sight. Elite Broadside Suits - More Powerful Version Crisis Suits - Heavy Infantry Can equip Flamers or other wargear. 3x Squad Elite Crisis Suits - Elite Crisis Suits can equip one long range war gear and one short range wargear. 3x Squad Very Elite Crisis Suits - 2x Squad Heros Tau Commander - Can be upgraded with stealth, shield, detection and multiple weapons. Ultimate Titan - Large Tau Aircraft with ridiculous range and wide attack pattern if you place a Ethreal gains additional abilities can also transport troops. Can attack from other side of the map if it has a unit providing view. Attacks hit multiple units and buildings. Can build various units. *I may have missed a few units or two but that is mostly the unit build. ** For the purposes of keeping it simple I occasional did not use the units formal name. *** While the Air unit is not called a titan it is many factors more powerful then the mako titan it is also more expensive and is made in the same building as other aircraft. A choke point is when the larger force is forced to go trough a very small space to enter combat. taking advantage of a choke point would be to fortify the other side so the attacked in small numbers so you can defend.

nice vid, im friends with the maker and his team, their really cool guys ive been meaning to get the update. Also the kroot are their melee (you were right) a different race but actually the Fire caste is the entire ground military of the Empire, they're actually somewhat different racially than their brethren (Fire=military water=diplomacy air=navy Earth=builders). All have different traits and are somewhat different than their brothers.

Shack, Build more infantry commands. That is how you increase your infantry cap... I told Val and asked him to share that with you... I guess he forgot. And you wouldn't be so poor if you upgraded your listening posts. As for the stealth units and your Earth-shaker platform, build more turrets and turn them into the sensor variant, it not only shows a huge section of the map around it, it also shows any stealth units in its view-distance.

Right click on your reinforce icons and your weapon upgrade icons to auto reinforce. Means you don't have to keep clicking when you want a full squad.

Yep, I have a habit of forgetting I turned that on.. Meaning when the unit starts coming under fire they instant re-supply. Which is good unless your trying to save up money. Low level guardsman will die just as fast as they spawn eating up $$

So I'm a little late to the party, but I love your DoW vids Shack. Fun fact, the Necrons and Imperials were quasi "allied" during one of the dark crusades. Basically the Necrons hate the warp, and came out of nowhere to attack the Chaos warfleet. The Imperial Navy and armies were instructed to let them be, but not actually help them. So it's not as insane as you guys think, sort of.

I believe all races are accessible for the campaign. Each DoW1 game = a few races for multiplayer. Exp = Expansion Dow 1 (very base game): Space Marines, Chaos, Eldar and Orkz 1st Exp.: Imperial Guard 2nd Exp: Tau and Necrons 3rd Exp: Sisters of Battle and Dark Eldar.

There is only one reported case of the necrons allying with the imperium and this was because a tyranid hive fleet was destroying the crypt planet that they were fighting over so the overlord seeked a temporary truce with the space marines, (not sure which chapter) and after they defeated the tyranids they then proceeded to battle each other, (the necrons won!) and that is the only reported case of such truce

TheXPGamers It isn't actually correct to say that you need all the expansions to play all the races. Not entirely sure about multiplayer, but when playing LAN or singleplayer, if you have Soulstorm, you have access to all the races.

In multiplayer you can only use the races of the game you have unlocked and since this mod is soulstorm without the other games you'd only be able to play as Dark Eldar or Sisters of Battle

Me and a friend have encountered a problem with the multiplayer. We've both downloaded 1.88.5 and all the other requirements. The game starts fine. However, when either one of us sets up a game, we can't see each other. We can see other peoples games, we can see each others names on the player list and can chat. But when it comes to either one of us setting up a game, we just can't see the other. Is this a common problem and is there a fix?

The reason Kroot sometimes seem animalistic is because they cut up animals and themselves; and then mix and match pieces in an attempt to become better hunters. They also do this with their enemies. The Kroot believe that no one they kill dies so long as they keep a few pieces. Their victims simply become one with the Kroot. All this is, of course, "For the greater good."

They eat the prey of which they want to gain a specific trait, becoming what they eat. More muscle? Eat some orks! They believe that it is a wast for a warriors spirit to go unused/to waste, believing that consuming them will give them that beings martial prowess. Le 16 year old guy who reads the wiki.

Still feeling you need to up the difficulty if it is 2v1 on a small map like that. You basically won the game around the 15-20 minute mark when all their skirmishes failed and ceased to happen. The AI is really slow at teching and producing lots of units on anything lower than Very Hard. Also, the AI is extremely susceptible to things like turrets and artillery/air units. They just don't deal with them very well.

I was more thinking, Tau came and wanted sacred artefacts, but Imperials were there first, so a bit of battle woke up the necrons, who own the artefacts, so they assisted the Imperials because they didn't want to take them away, but keep them safe.
