Wonderful to see, I just returned from the UK, serving there on exchange with the RAAF.... I miss this heavy metal already! The airline stuff just doesn't cut the mustard of a dawn strike in Australia!!! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

i was there that morning. Freezing cold. I was pretty excited as it was my first time seeing the f35s in the metal. when they came rolling out the scene was surprisingly appropriate. cold, sun only just rising, and the ghostly, futuristic forms of the f35 sort of spookily rolling down the taxiway before blasting off. I will miss the hornets though. They just seem to have a bit more personality.

I first saw the F-35 turn and burn at an airshow and was taken back at how fast it could turn WITHOUT losing speed, then to watch them take off next to 30 year old F-18s I am taken back again at how rapidly it pile don speed with the AB, it lifted off 100m before the F-18 did, these things are FAST.

Top footage mate, great work. Makes me a bit ashamed that I never got around to editing my RTB footage from 2017 Dawn Strike with the Hornets going transonic over the base and some four-engine fighter pilots in a Super Hercules going flat stick on the deck over the Fighter World hanger trying to keep up with them 😆. Keep it up with the good stuff my man, cheers. 👍

F18s always seem to do a quick rotation of the stick to get the flaps going prior to lighting up the burners...something in that? Notice it almost everytime.

They do what is called a wipe out of the controls. Basically push the stick around in a full circle a couple of times to do a final check of the fligjt control system

With the country broke and in recession where's the money coming from to keep these plane's flying????????
@allandavis82014 жыл бұрын
Totally understand your point, but, if, as with the RAF, the aircrew don’t train and stay sharp then when the sh1t hits the fan it’s going to be virtually impossible for the RAAF or any airforce to defend your homeland and save you from taking a crash course in Chinese/Russian/North Korean or any other language, plus if the aircrew don’t get their hours in they throw their collective teddies (or in this case koala 🐨 bears) out their collective cots for the groundcrew to pick up and put their dummies (pacifiers) back in, believe me, after 24 years in the RAF I know what I am talking about, had to put a great many OCU pilots back in, wind them and change a few nappies (diapers/napkins). Nonetheless, a fantastic sight, and sound, go RAAF, Per Ardua Ad Astra. 😀👍🇬🇧🏴

@robman20953 жыл бұрын
Australia is not broke and was out of the brief covid induced recession Q4 2020 after 30-odd years without a recession. Australia is ramping up defence spending because of China, not reducing it. The money comes from the same place it always does, with the addition of a bit more imaginative action by the Reserve Bank to pay for all the covid-related stimulus, some of which is still ongoing.
