The endless do not have souls, they are just memory given form. To sustain the endless they use living aether from people to keep them running like a computer program. Souls are use by civilians as a extra life.

Also good to note that they are probably primals in a way. They use an exorbitant amount of aether and are constructed from the ideas and memories of what people think that person was like. The Ninth was running out of aether from having severed themselves from the aetherial sea so they looked to interdimensional fusion as a solution. P.S. The Queen Sphene we meet is also probably being stalked by remnants of Preservation. Likely selected people to surveill on Sphene and her people so that she sticks to the course of this everlasting paradise. She spends the entire time with you introducing you to her kingdom and offers to spare you from the wrath Preservation wants to incur by making you citizens. She's a tragic mimic of her original character that is being twisted to Preservation's goals.

Weird random trivia: the brains of conjoined twins are not able to take over the duties of each others subconscious nervous system… hence whenever one of the heads (or rather brains) die the other dies soon after due to the bodily functions stopping which the dead head controlled. Meaning Daddy JaJa would‘ve long been dead, dying with his other head.

Pretty much, it's a cool connection between East and West and I hope they do more with them going forward. Also Bakool let's it out in what is basically an act of domestic terrorism during which he assaults one of the trial guys (which is a disqualifying offense that gets Zoraal kicked out later on) and suffers no real repercussions for this act so... that happened and is swiftly forgotten about.

Dawntrail was the roughest expansion for me by a country mile because it was just like I really liked Gulool Ja Ja... and then he died. Then the second half came by and I was _ehhhh_ about it (much preferred the first, this is when Wuk was starting to overstay a tad for me), but then Otis came along and I was really digging his company. Thought even if this was going another Dragon Ball Z style "constant escalation" plot, at least we got a REALLY cool friend to add to our team. AND THEN HE DIED TOO.

Not only are they likeable then die, both deaths are really infuriating. Otis' death was literally for nothing since robot queen can just Yes Man herself into another robot body and makes his sacrifice to protect her feel pointless. Gulool should have been killed without any of the Scions or WoL being anywhere near, it should have been an Echo memory from Koana/Wuk that occurred with just the royal family there and the rest of the people who have dealt with world ending events and crazy tech and magic not being there to notice that something wasn't right with edgy prince boi.

Not necessarily since the Milala are really just Lalafel that hopped shards. It would depend if being born on another shard links your soul to that shard, or your soul is linked to your actual origin. As of now, it's pretty much guesswork which of these is true.

I realize that having such an opinion is probably borderline insanity, but I personally haven't had a bad time in any expansion regardless of the story or the writing. Being in Tural and seeing what it had to offer and beyond was honestly a treat to experience. Dawntrail is of course by no means perfect, and it has some very stiff competition to try and match up to, but we can look forward to the future at least (Arcadion/FF11 raids are pretty cool)

Same here, my friend. Though I think the story could have been so much better but it was still a somewhat enjoyable start to a new story arc and the vistas of Tuliyollal are breathtaking -to the degree that there are time I Trust Worqor Zormor just to enjoy the majesty of the mountain.

Same. I absolutely love the world Dawntrail offered. Exploring the maps has been great and the combat encounters were pretty. It's just the story that really drags the expansion down for me. Unfortunately msq is the main bit for a lot of people hence the hate for this expansion.

1:14 I think this was the worst part of Dawntrail. The kidnapping happens offscreen and you're just sitting around waiting for Wuk Lamat to come back. Erenville even says she might have gotten lost on the straight path back. Then you do some investigation footwork to find out what happened, complete with two horrible stealth quests, and only then do you figure out she was kidnapped by Bakool Ja Ja. When my WoL found her, my headcanon was that the WoL was rolling her eyes and wondering how she got dragged into babysitting her and wishing that she was with Koana instead. For the Hanuhanu feat, Koana didn't make us do 6 quests for a fancy float, he just poured some magic potion and the problem with the reeds was instantly fixed. Terrible writing all around.

Koana examined the problem, went off to make a solution and tested it, huzzah it worked. Makes a whole lot more sense if it's something supernatural or akin to a blight than "We forgot to do our special magic ritual that literally keeps us from starving because we were hungry." The entire story could have been massively improved if the player was with Koana the entire time instead, assuming we just accept taking part in their politics, and Wuk Lamat can chime in already knowing about their cultures and traditions and be an emotional fixture for Koana. The fact the she claims to love her people and their different ways of life yet has to repeatedly be told about such things rather than being a walking encyclopedia on Turali culture makes her look so foolish and even more useless.

My WoL was gritting her teeth every time she had to compliment the cat princess and was given absolutely no room to criticize her idealistic fanciful approach to every problem. Plot used Krile as bait so we'd get stuck with being catfished.

When I played Dawntrail I took a shot every time WuK Lamat said "Sphene". It was fucking miserable and I fell asleep in my chair. It's mostly a blank spot in my memory. Thanks for filling in the blanks.

6:08 Zoraal Ja is still one of the main reasons I dislike the DT story. He felt so unexplored when there's so much emotional potential with his character. I wish we were able to actually see more about his feelings and golden child syndrome. But nah most of it is backstory or happens off screen and lost in a time skip. The potential of the new characters wasted. At least the zones, music and combat were great this expansion.

Someone did the math. If you removed ALL of the cutscenes from DT, you'd have 3 hours of gameplay on average without instant-queues for dungeons. That's from start (boarding the boat) to the finishing battle with Queen Eternal. The rose-tinted glasses I got back in Shadowbringers were slapped off when I finished Dawntrail. Guess this is where Square is hoping to drive us 😂
