Pretty sure the original is A, E, F#m, D. He's playing E, B, C#, A. He's also tuned a half-step down, though, so his E is played the way an F would be on the first fret, were he playing in standard. The rest of the chords are just played one fret higher. I think the chords change for the chorus in the original, whereas he doesn't change them in this performance.

Funny enough, I think the way he's playing it is also the same way to play "When I Come Around," and "Glycerine." Probably a million others, but those come to mind.
