Technically if you ever have caterpillars to rear they're very simple. All they do its she's the leaves. And all their body uses is some of the liquids (sap. Water etc) and certain minor nutrients. Most caterpillars eat leaves that we standardly use for tea any way. If you can eat the silk worm there's no reason why what they would poop would be bad considering that you may eat some when you eat the worm itself. In reality. It's a really easy and cheap way to have tea. Quick to steep and already like pearl tea where they roll the leaves tightly and remove most of the water to leave pearls of tea :)

I really applaud your bravery in trying all of these bugs. And I totally agree that our disgust is largely psychological. In so many cultures, eating insects is totally normal, and as far as a protein source bugs make a ton more sense as far as a carbon footprint and renewable source. So yea, thanks for doing this, it's been really helpful. I also have to mention that I really appreciate your commentary on things you try; It's very thoughtful, non-judgmental, and descriptive.

Hello Emmy! I have a suggestion for what new thing to eat, it's Something i tried today and i actually liked it! It's a salad consisting of a couple leaves of lettuce, topped with one pineapple ring from a can (preferably 100% juice), mayo is then lightly added to the ring of pineapple, topped with grated chedder, and then some of the pineapple juice is poured on top. Sounds weird but it wasn't a bad combination.

I'm from Indonesia, and I assume you meant the Luwak coffee am i right? It's a common misconception that the coffee is made from animal poop. The truth is that the animal ate the ripened coffee cherries, yet the beans were not digested, so it went out from their butt with their poop. The acidic compinent inside the animal is that made the coffee beans delicious as coffee. The farmers collected them and rinse them. So it's 100% hygenic :)
@iunnox6668 жыл бұрын
+MyTeenLifeLoLTV "The farmers collected them and rinse them. So it's 100% hygenic :)" If you got shit on your hands and rinsed them off, would you consider that "100% hygenic"? Also, I've heard that some farmers will just wipe feces on the beans so they'll test the same as real beans.

The coffee harvested from the feces of a civet is called Kopi Luwak. Supposedly it's the best coffee in the world, and sure as heck is priced like it is. But a lot of food critics and the like think it tastes like crap (pun intended), and is just a status symbol along the same lines as shark fin soup. People pay for the novelty, not the quality of the coffee.
@drid8259 жыл бұрын

When I make my own herbal tea, I just pour the mixture into the bottom of a cup (I just kind of wing the amount tbh. It's probably a little less than a tablespoon or so) and then pour boiling water on top. I can't use a coffee machine either
@smashcode109 жыл бұрын
It also depends on your taste as well, example if it was jasmine tea some people like it to be more concentrated than others will add less water and vice versa for those who like it less concentrated will add more water. Basically just the tea itself and hot water and sweeteners, milk if you'd like. I just know the basics nothing complex, pretty happy with the tea I've made chrysanthemum, jasmine, green etc.

+luckyfoxcandy555 in turkey we have something called "çaydanlık". it has two cups; one is on the bottom u put boiling water in it and than there is a small one on top, u put tea and some more water.. so with the steam and heat tea starts to blend in. at the end u have concentrated mix on top u put 1/3 of cup and full the rest with water on bottom :D sorry i think it's too complicated

I figure that regardless of species- and as poop is a waste product containing numerous toxins I'll pass on that. I am a bit of a tea connoisseur, so I'll just stick to drinking the teas that have been through a first hand oxidation process and leave the bugs out of it. I drink many types, but I will say that Oolong IS the champagne of teas. Emmy, you are as cute as a bugs ear (no pun intended, really), and very adventurous. Ooo, tea! I love tea-- ooohh, uhm bug poop tea. I've never heard of this. And I have had a few bugs and quite a few larvae in my life but almost all of the food was flavored or cooked or had a sauce on it so I actually don't know what it tastes like without anything so maybe I should go back and taste some of those I've had before. Ok-- teriyaki crickets (Japan), larvae in a can (unflavored), larvae in a lollypop, cricket in a lollypop, larvae in a Mexican dish with crickets on the side, if I recall. Plus, rabbit, snake, caribou, and some Chinese dishes some would find strange like pigs ear and the such. I'll have to check out the earthworms though, I'm intrigued by that and a spider or two, I'd like to have a grasshopper.... And I'm curious how the fresh versions if these would compare to the dried version but that might not ever happen for obvious reasons-- shipping them would be ridiculously expensive. PS, you should have ask Thailand Unique to sponsor you if you didn't. :) hey, I'm going to check them out due to your videos. Thanks Emmy, you're my kind of gal.
