The cafe you missed in the morning was on an alternate marked path from Hondarribia to the Sanctuary Guadalupe. 👍 sorry you missed it. It’s a long way without services to Pasaia 😉

Thanks for the video. Just walked my first Camino (Portuguese from Lisbon) in September and already thinking about my next, which will be in April / May next year. It’ll be the Norte or Frances so videos like yours will help shape my decision. Buen Camino!

I'm curious to know how you found the actual route from Iran to San Sabastian? I'm on the Camino del Norte right now, about 15 days in. I couldnt find ANY route markers from Irun so ended up walking on the road all the way. It was a disaster! Farmers fields, they were shouting at me. Angry dogs, crazy steep banks through stinging nettles, just an awful first day! 😂 All because I couldn't find the signs. But, 2 weeks in and there is still very very poor signage. Miles apart from the Frances, loved that one! Thanks for sharing your experiences, loved the video. 😊

The first day was odd. Lots of pavement, although I expected that, but no other pilgrims. I’d go through a village an no one said Buen Camino. At the end of the day I felt lost and discouraged. Thankfully, a woman did wish me Buen Camino as I left town the next day. I did get lost a few times. Watch my videos. Look out for the wild boars coming out of the corn fields!!!! It was a tough journey but so worth it in the end. Buen Camino.

Finally thinking about my next Camino! Looking forward to following your journey. Sorry if I missed it, but what time of year did you walk? I did the Frances in Sept/Oct but need to consider coastal weather. Thanks and Buen Camino! 👣

Thanks for the nice video! Could you comment on the time of year? The video was posted in July, but the weather looks more like April or May, although you speak about summer holidays at one point. I've done three "del Norte" by bicycle, always in August. I plan to take my daughter and nieces on the "del Norte" on foot for a few stages around easter this year and am curious about what to expect.

How close do the edges of the cliffs do you walk? I am thinking of doing del norte, but I have a very bad fear of hights.

You can get as close or as far away as you want. Some areas have fencing and others do not. Don’t worry.

Wow! I am planning to do camino del norte in September. I am still undecided whether I want to do or skip the first stage from Irun to San Sebastian. Because it's a very long distance on the very first day. Last year, on camino portugues, I started very easy (8 km, 16 km, 20 km) and so on and it was the perfect slow start for me. I looked on the map and it looks like it's impossible to divide this stage in two, because there is no accommodation on the way, right? :/ I would like to do it because it looks so beautiful!
