I have been ill since April 2020, from lasting effects of Covid, and life has completely changed for me. I am totally unable to do many of the things I once was before this all happened. I am committing to being a part of this 30 day journey, even if all I can do is sit, breathe and practice gratitude with all of you, at least I am showing up, and investing the time in me. I thank you for all of your love and sense of community shining through these beautiful comments! Namaste. 🙏🏼💜

Andréa, that is a perfect approach. I'm so sorry you've been sick for so long. I spent a lot of today's practice in extended child's pose because I also recently had covid. So far it seems like my case is pretty mild, but I am surprised at how difficult it was for me to try to get back into it today. I will follow your example and continue to show up every day. I hope you feel better.

An important part of the yoga with Adriene ritual for me is reading for a few minutes the comments. I feel your love, my companions on this journey! Let my sixth 30 day yoga journey with Adriene and all of you begin!! edit: I was reading the answers and feeling chills, as if the energy of you who are spread all over the world was connected and passing through me as well. I love how this bright and loving soul of Adriene has attracted so many wonderful people in one place and continues to bring more and more people together! I am sending my love to all of you from Brazil and wishing that this stream of positive energy that I feel connected with you all may one day cover our entire planet!

I've been practising yoga with Adriene for nearly 6 years on and off now, but today officially marks my first full year of committing to a daily practice! Some days that meant 5 minutes of breathing and gentle stretching, some days it meant a sweaty hour on the mat, but every time I was glad I showed up. I never thought I could be the kind of person who did yoga every day, but now I couldn't imagine my life without it. Thank you, Adriene, for making yoga so accessible to so many people, and for helping me become closer to my body and appreciate its ever-changing strength and power over what it looks like ❤

The yoga mat is a place where you can bring it all and leave it all. Like many others I began my everyday practice once my home state was placed under quarantine. Yoga called me when I was 16 but I was not in need of it yet. As my body and mind began to age a bit I realized that I needed a cure but the gym life wasn’t for me. My joints and muscles were becoming sore on a regular basis due to constant hard labor. I was becoming fatigued mid day every day shortly after lunch. I needed help. I studied about the health benefits of regular practice and looked on KZbin and somehow stumbled across yoga with Adrian. Here I am almost two years strong in my practice and I can say that I’m a brand new being. I can endure hours of work with no pain in my body and my mind operates from both sides . I hit the mat early to start my day and it truly is a cheat code in this game of life. I’m done now. Lets flow people! Big shout out to all my fellow yogi’s who know that this is more than just simple poses. Its a framework that builds a better you.

This practice felt so good. The affirmation “I am here and that is enough” was so grounding for me and I remembered that during challenging moments. I’m looking forward to coming back to this space and showing love to my body through this movement. The hardest parts for me are wrist pressure which I primarily feel in down dog and planking which Is something I’m going to focus on working on. The reminder to come back to your breath before catching up with you is one I needed to hear as well. Namaste 🧘♀️❤️🔥

When everyone talks about “wrist pressure” and “wrist pain” is it really in the wrist itself? Because for me it’s just the pain in the heels of my hands and I’ve always felt like I’m doing something wrong.
@harlottebronte2 жыл бұрын
I struggled a lot with wrist pain in the past and foam yoga wedges made a huge difference for me! They're cheap on amazon and they take so much of the strain out of your wrists and shoulders (which is where a lot of wrist pain can come from!) :)
@mslineeee2 жыл бұрын
@@laurasaur19 the heels of my hands hurt as well. But (as far as I remember, because it’s been a while) it improves when I continuously practice yoga :) you can try to watch some of Adriene’s earlier videoed where she goes into depth with some of the moves. That way you can see if there something you can do different during particular moves. But honestly, bodies are just very different and I think it’s common that people feel different things!
@jenroberts72672 жыл бұрын
@@laurasaur19 Mine is in the heels of my hands too - mostly my right hand. To alleviate this, I will bring my hands slightly closer to my body - sometimes making sure weight is evenly distributed throughout my hands and fingers doesn't help. I also wonder if I'm doing something wrong, and I had even thought maybe I had some tendon damage before I saw your comment. Thank you for posting that. I just want to add: when I used to do yoga more frequently, that pain eventually stopped happening - I think because the muscles get stronger.

3 years ago I started my first 30 days of Yoga and I remember thinking that I'd never finish but why not give it a go and see how far I get. My first weeks were filled with moments where I almost gave up. I spent many poses angrily cursing Adriene's name as I forced myself into positions I wasn't ready for and stayed longer than my body wanted me to. Even just sitting upright was a challenge. Why was this so hard? Fast forward to today, I'm not feeling great this morning so I take it easy on a few poses and end a few early. Why force myself into a position that isn't going to benefit me today? As I relax in child's pose for a moment I think to myself was this new mindset the key to all my recent progress? I think so, and I can't help but wonder how much time I wasted letting my ego get in the way of me moving forward? Am I doing this in other areas of my life? Might be time to reevaluate a few things.
@dionnecdixon2 жыл бұрын
I had this exact realization this moment. Even though I can’t stay in a pose for as long, or move to the next one with ease that doesn’t mean to just give up.

This is part of my goal for this year. Try every day, even if I can only make it through one minute.

I felt the exact same way today. I felt very frustrated by the slowness and how long you have to hold the postures for, even though they’re quite simple! Her cues were annoying me as well which I found myself reflecting on during the practice. I spent a lot of my time in child’s pose because I either didn’t want to hold the pose as long or I was over it haha. I didn’t realise how fast I’m running - just a moment in a posture caused me lots of frustration because it wasn’t moving “fast” enough. Now that’s got to change. That’s why I love yoga because it challenges you, it makes you reflect. I know I’ll be a grumpy bum tomorrow as well but I’m sure I’ll come around. I would love to complete these 30 days because I know it’ll be so good for me.

So excited for this, day 1. I’ve been away far too long. Still, a beginner, I stopped my yoga journey when life got in the way. Why? I don’t know. Cocky? Probably. The farther away I got, the stiffer I became. The older I felt. Then I fell off my eating plan. Now 2 years later and I’ve gained 40 pounds but more importantly than that, all my pains and stiffness have reoccurred. I feel older than my years (61 on the 12th) Not what I had planned for my life. Time to stop this madness. I know yoga and the keto way of eating is for me. No one’s coming to my rescue. It’s a new year and I’m excited to take back the reins of my life! You’re never too old to change, to improve yourself, no matter what that may entail. I thank Adriene for these free sessions. Not only does she offer a daily flow, she teaches!! And she’s not boring!! (Unfortunately so many others put me to sleep 😴 😂) So here’s to 2022 and all it’s possibilities!! Happy New Year! Meet you all on the mat! 🧘🏻♀️🙏🏼❤️ UPDATE: Just finished Day 1 and I have to admit it was a challenge! Just a stark reminder of how I’ve regressed. But, oh how wonderful I feel now! Granted, I couldn’t do all the poses or keep my head below my hips for long (can someone say “headache”, “pressure”. 🤯 ) but I never stopped, I kept it up till the end! Doing some stretches several times during the day will benefit me along my journey. IT FEELS GOOD TO BE BACK! 🙌🏼🧘🏻♀️🙏🏼

Still, the only thing I keep getting back to is yoga. Like you, I appreciate Adriene not only not being boring, but making me laugh! 😊 A couple of years ago they had to operate a benign, but big brain tumor. Since then I sometimes have problems with downward-facing dog and some other asanas (unfortunately, in child's pose too), so I understand the pressure in the head that you're mentioning. But if it feels too much, I stop for a moment. I am now committed to coming back every day. Like Adriene says, showing up really is the hardest part.🧘♀

I’m so proud of myself for showing up and being here today. I almost paused the video and left numerous times but instead I choose to be kind to myself. At one point I just turned over onto my back and focused on my breaths and some intentional leg movements. I was relieved when Adrienne followed that exercise with moving onto the back to end the session because it affirmed my choice to keep going and transition to my back. Reading the comments helped me realize I’m not the only one struggling with wrist pain. Yoga has helped SO Much! Yoga also helped me tremendously with depression and anxiety. Overall it's impact on my life has been nothing but positive. I also lost a lot of weight 🤗

That is so fab. I have only just discovered that I can do yoga when I feel very depressed, and it helps. Before, I would always wait until I felt better. We are so lucky : )

“Maybe you finish the sentence I am here because… or maybe you quietly repeat the affirmation to yourself.. I am here. Because that is enough” This brought tears to my eyes & I felt it in my soul.

I had a similar experience! A very powerful statement : "I am here."

I started yoga for the first time 6 months ago at the age of 48 after being ill and stationary for over 15 years. It was by great fortune that I found your channel. Today I attended my very first in studio yoga class. Thank you Adriene. You gave me the tools, inspiration and courage to go. I love your channel and consider you a great gift in my life. Many blessings to you in 2022! Namaste

So honoured to practice along with all you wonderful human beings. I’m back to work tomorrow working 12 hour shifts so my fear is that I will not continue … but I am prioritizing myself this year and so will set my alarm early to get it in before work and see how it goes!

You and me same Laura, some hard long days coming up but I hope the calm on the mat can make them a little easier. Good luck to you!

Oh my goodness. I've had a pulled lower back for days making me walk very twisted and in quite a bit of pain. I've just done this wonderful session of yoga, I was able to do every move and I've just got up, stood and walked straighter and pain free for the first time in a week. Can't wait for tomorrow's session.

Just started a new yoga journey Move which I never finished 2 years ago. I do half an hour every weekday and follow Adrienne’s videos. This was actually very good, although I am more advanced sometimes it is good to go back to basics and focus on your breathing and moving slowly 💙

I’m a day or two behind but I’m happy to be starting my journey with you all again, I haven’t practiced in a long time and I found this tougher than I would have before but I’m feeling confident that I will see this through. Thank you everyone and to Adriene ✨❤️

I knew this would be a struggle for me as I have not been as loving to myself as perhaps I should have been throughout the years & this video did not disappoint but with shaky arms and legs I say "I can do this" and am proud and grateful that I showed up for myself today with everyone else embarking on this 30 days. thank you Adriene for making this possible

Every year, I attempt the 30 day challenge, and every year, I quit about halfway through. Today, I felt like I was going to quit on Day 1. I'm going to try again tomorrow. Praying for a gentle session!

Just go one day at a time...congratulate yourself that EACH DAY you have done the whole program:) Encourage your body you are taking time to listen to her and not be afraid:)

Remember you don’t have to do a practice “perfectly” for it to count. Just show up the best way you can and the magic will happen :)

Don't give up KT. You make it what you want and do what you can do. That's what I love about Adriene's yoga and being in my own home. If I can't hold a pose for long or struggle with a pose I give it a try and just do something else that feels good. No judgement. Just you and your mat.

Hello, just wanted to say that you're not alone! My wrists were not happy with me at all. But you know what, we showed up, and if we keep showing up I bet we'll be amazed at our progress after 30 days! It might not be someone else's progress but it'll be OURS.

As a beginner this was hard but I did my best and will be back tomorrow. I know what I can do and stepped back for the harder parts. I feel good at the end. See everyone tomorrow 🥰🥰🥰

I've been at it for years and still found some poses challenging! The beauty of yoga is that you show up, try, and you'll benefit as you get stronger, even if you just sit in tabletop breathing with us!

if you show up it get's better. childs pose kills me every time and i dunno why. even after years. but i can eccept it better now :)

Thank you so much for saying that - I’m the same. I started late, never done yoga before and really struggled with the first session, but I feel it just shows me what I have to gain in the long run. Perseverance and consistency ❤️

Thank you Adriene! This was just what I needed today Last night I tested positive via a rapid test, and now I am quarantined for the first time in the past two years, sitting alone in my bedroom without much to do as I wait for the results of the pcr. Knowing that I was going to start Move today gave me a reason to get out of bed and sturucture to my day. Practicing with thousands of people all of the world made me feel less lonely. Thank you all!
