I was diagnosed at 32 and am 50 now. It’s caused me massive anxiety and depression and I just wanna get it right. Watching you today as I have an omnipod 5 you’ve given me hope that I can win. Thank you so much for this channel ❤

Meg, super helpful. Thank you for being vulnerable and sharing! My bride (Sandi) was diagnosed at/around age 40 almost 10 years ago. Having regular check-ups it happened in earnest between annual check-ups from a slightly elevated bs to the next year at her obgyn check-up being discovered in her urine check. Thankfully, not a horrible high or low that was debilitating scary. I found you in preparing to start the 5 this week and have made it through your videos to here and wanted to say Thank You! We will be more equipped and prepared because of the vlogs you've done... Very, very grateful. Grady

Wow!!! I really really appreciate your transparency in telling your story. I was diagnosed right after turning 40 and I had that moment where reality hit and I accepted my T1D diagnosis. It was very humbling and I felt like it made me mature…even though I was already an adult. Fast forward 2 years, My endo actually diagnosed me as a Type 1 Diabetic. Im on insulin now and managing very well. I found your videos and IG recently, they give me life. Because of your posts, I finally agreed to use a CGM and Im so glad I did!! Thank you for sharing so in depth and so openly. It is so appreciated! 💪🏾🧡

Hi Zoraya! Thank you for sharing your story! And I'm honored to have played a part in getting a CGM-- the only reason I ever started on one was because I saw people on social media wearing them, so I'm glad to have passed it on!! Thank you for being here and all the support! Sending lots of love!!

Diagnosed at age 8 in 1988. Your video was very accurate. You have to grow up fast when hit with that kind of news.

Can’t wait for all the new video’s. Diagnosed at 32 which at the time I didn’t believe was possible. My father was type 1 and by age 30 I figured I’m not getting diabetes. I’m okay with that now and I believe I’m healthier for it. When diagnosed in 2004 I didn’t think like that,I was angry. Now I’m good and seeing and hearing from others with type 1 helps so much. Keep up the good work.

Thank you for sharing your story. Hugs from a former T1D kid to another. Big congratulations to all like us who shouldered and continue to carry this disease with us but choose living life with gratitude instead of constant anger. It is amazing how far the technology has come during the last decade or so. Look forward to seeing the rest of your month of betes reflection. 👍

I was diagnosed in 1970, just shy of my 16th birthday. I had the classic symptoms, but it was attributed to being on the track team. I was peeing a lot for months. It was when I went to bed one night weighing 120 and was 105 six hours later the next morning that my parents took me to the doctor. I don’t remember exactly, but my blood sugar was well north of 1100. I think I must have been a walking DKA case. Spent 3 days in the hospital leaning how to take shots and pee into a cup, use the eye dropper to get the urine drops, mix with water and drop the fizzy tablet in. I remember how hot it got. Blue was good, orange was bad.

If you are implying that is a T1 cure, you are wrong. There is no cure, only treatments.

I agree as well, it really restricts you, having to grow up quicker and be more responsible and think about every choice. I think I was first able to inject myself when I was 6/7
