Welcome to the first day of my ride through
The Lost Coast of Northern California!
I traveled South on Highway 101 from Eureka and joined up with the Southern end of the Lost Coast 4X4 trail just West of the small town of Legget California.
From there the road turned to dirt and gravel with what seemed to be a never ending climb to ride the ridge tops through Beautiful Coastal Redwoods, Douglas Fir, lush ferns, and amazing views of the Pacific Ocean.
Finally, arriving at my campsite amongst the Alder trees tucked in by myself, I relaxed next to the fire thinking of what the next day will bring.
It was an amazing first day,…….Hope you enjoy

I have recently learned about this road/campground.. i realize the road is a "4x4 road" .. from your video it seemed to be in great condition, would you imagine a compact car with low under clearance would be ok on this road if going slowly/cautiously?

I enjoyed the video. My son and I camped there a few years ago riding our Honda CT110 Trail Bikes from Ukiah. We had a great time! Did you see the elk? I just bought a 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan. Can't wait to get out there and take it on some adventures too. Question: at 8:55 on your video it looks like there's steam coming off your headlight. What is that from?

Thanks for watching Tim, and congratulations on your new Himalayan! 👏👏👏👍 As for the Elk, check out Day 2 of the Lost Coast 😆 That trip just kept getting better and better! Next time you're at Sportsman's Warehouse, take a look at the matching table for your chair. We've got the same setup, and the tables are the only ones I've ever found that don't sag when you put a cup of coffee on them! The mesh cup holders are a little snug for my cognac glass's base, but for most other things, they work well too.

Hi Del, Glad ya like the channel and thanks for watching! To answer your question I am currently using 3 different cameras. Camera 1 is a GoPro 9 mounted to my chest using a chest mount strap and that is usually my used for my audio as well. However, I am very unhappy with the GoPro and will be replacing it with a DGI action 3. Camera 2 is mounted to my handlebars and is a Insta360 oneX2 which I am very happy with. Camera 3 is my Apple iPhone12 and works great. As far as setting go, I don’t mess with them much on the cameras themselves but do play with effects in post production using Apple Final Cut Pro. Hope that helps and thanks again for watching 🍻😎

Nicely done. I visited this the lost coast last spring. Wanted to ride the Usal Road. It was closed .... :-) i guess they gate it until they can clear it out and let it dry out a bit later in the year.. i came down from the north, starting on the Washington coast. I am just now finishing my series of videos on that trip. Maybe we meet someday. Keep up the good work. If you are ever up in Seattle area come on by. ~GrizzLee

Hi Pablo, Thanks for watching and the compliments on the video, I’m glad ya liked it 😎 As for the route, I don’t have gps tracks for it, however the route I took is pretty easy to follow on a map. If you are riding North on Highway 101 from San Francisco you turn left on the north end of Highway 1. A few miles down the road you will turn right off of Highway 1 onto Usal Road as seen in the video. And from there, just ride North 😎 Hope you make out here someday soon! 🍻😎

Usal Road is fantastic! I was there this past summer with my Himalayan in the same paint scheme as yours. I rode up from San Francisco. I love the bike as my light adventure bike. I have a 2013 Triumph Scrambler which I love as well but not as much fun off road as the Himalayan. I camped out on the beach by taking a left after crossing that little bridge. Would love to share my photos of the trip with you. Did you continue north on Usal Road after camping to Needle Point camp? My iPhones map does not show that Usal road continues further north.
@NorthboundMotorcycleADV

Usal Road is fantastic! I totally agree with you my friend. To answer your question, I did continue north after staying at needle point. On day three of the series a left needle point and stopped over in shelter Cove for some supplies and then continued north into the king range which is also fantastic. Finally popped out in Ferndale on day 4 after it was all over. Thanks for watching and safe rides! 😎 (Oh and great choice in the Lake Blue Himalayan) 🍻
