The devs even said they are going to buff some of the under performing characters from the CBT's, making the tier lists even more pointless. End of day pull priority should always be Waifu / Husbando > Fun > Meta.

Very good take on rerolling, reminds of years ago when I was looking to get into E7, consumed a lot of content on who to reroll for at the time it was Tywin, Vildred Sigret were the popular choices but ultimately it didn't make much of a difference in the long run

Vildred... oddly enough.. was one of the few that bucked the trend. To be fair he got buffed right after launch and benefits from being the only character in his niche to this day (12 Speed Imprint)

there are always work arounds, but as far as epic 7 goes vildred was a great farmer to dog walk and sigret was literally 1 of the best and still is at killing wyvern, so it was just to give you like a good start in the game.

For me the main reason why i would reroll is to play something that i want, not something that i think is strong. There is no point in playing if i cant play the character that i want.

I could name a few creators that are trying to ride the hype around WuWa and they are trying to kiss up to Kuro as much as humanly possible. I needed to go to someone like Zajef, who is not even planning on playing WuWa, to learn the truth about glitchy combat and the negatives (or should I say important nuances) of overhyped characters. Basically, creators are salesmen, and, like R. W. Emerson said, you think for yourself, bro, or you'll just get rekt. Every time.

That's very true. People keep asking me if I'm playing Wuthering Waves or planning to make content for it. I keep saying "We will see after I play it." If I don't enjoy it or I don't think it is good, why would I? What if you are right and it is overhyped?

Im glad that youre talking about rerolling, Imo I got sick of it personally but it just doesn't seem optimal. Yeah it gives you a better start but for the future its just a waste of time since its only for launch units especially when we have selectors.

In my case, I was going to reroll to lose the 50/50 on Jiyan so I could garantee getting Yinlin but after seeing how little you get to roll in the limited banner, prob I'll stick to just save up until she is released

And there is me, who chose the character to play depending on their looks, Visual tier list matter more for me lol. And since WuWa need some skill to play the "feel" of the character gameplay is i think is the more important part at the start. Since no matter how big your damage is, you won't have fun if the gameplay is boring.

I didn't play at that time but I remember people telling me the horror stories every deck playing Jace Beleren to counter Mind Sculptor due to how the Legend rule worked back then. I believe also Rhystic Studies made a video on it. He's probably my favorite KZbinr and someone I take a lot inspiration from.

I agree with the getting certain character tierlist is pointless but, avoiding certain character tierlist is important imo because lame/not fun characters can easily deter new players from continuing to play the game

I stopped rerolling a couple years ago after realizing that it killed a gacha instantly for me. It just sucked any fun out of it. Nowadays i never reroll and just go with what i get, and in the end, this is for sure the best way to do it. A unit being top tier won't matter until you have finished all the story, gotten the best gear and maxed out all your units. And at that point you might not even play the game anymore, or a new unit is better than the old "best" one. Just play for fun.

also since not rerolling mean you need to make do with what you had, you had the need to REALLY understand what your unit do and what works best for them. That's in my opinion is actually making you a better in the long run

Here's how it is in a general gacha sense: If you're worried about meta, make sure you get Verina. She's a support. They live longer as far as usefulness. Otherwise, grab who you like and most importantly--something I rarely hear people say--who feels good to play as to you.

I was wiser and chose Destina as my 5 star in E7 (yes, I didn't reroll since im lazy AF). She was there until Tama appeared. And as Tsu says, tierlist are good as a guide but don't take them as face value because you might not have the knowledge to make the most out of the unit or don't have the gear/dupes/ etc to make him work optimally. Save yourselves the regret for power creap is inevitable.

There is also no PvP. Literally nothing matters except your own enjoyment and fulfillment if there is no PvP. If you enjoy challenge then playing the easiest character is self defeating.

powercreep is definitely a thing, but why not use the great character for the time it is relevant? only thinking about powercreep you would have to skip most dps banners just bc they might become useless or less useful down the line. I enjoyed the first few weeks/month shredding everything with my seele+lc. yes I have newer, shinier toys now but I still had fun using seele. Rerolling in Nikke until I got scarlet allowed me to push higher deficits in story early and I use her in boss teams until today. tldr: While I agree it's totally not necessary, I like to have an easier start with one of the better characters even if it may fall off in the future.

I get it and really GREAT point, BUT is a gacha.. is about getting characters.. if you wanna enjoy gameplay and history i REALLY dont know why you are playing a gacha game, the gameplay is you loging everyday for 30min and saving resources for the next character banner... thats it, but yeah.. dont worry about reroll.. 1.1 or 1.2 maybe already powercrepy some units, dont spend 20+ hours trying get a character if in a month or two they gonna be powercreepy, i really think is better save de pools for another character that is not a DPS on limit banner, just saying... you will let the game a little bit more difficul for more time (what is kinda fun) and 2 month later when most player are about to quit because powercreepy or they dont get the next character you can choose if gonna pick or no... and you really thing that the gacha companies dont know that most players gonna reroll? Cmon.. 1.1 and 1.2 characters gonna be more AWESOME to people spand money on it.

Every character in Wuwa will get powercreept in max 2 years, i thought everyone already know that? every gen1 character in PGR is obsolete aside from few with skills updated after Gen2 got released...

Yeh, kinda, i tell that myself every time, play through the game, then abandon an account and reroll an optimal one. that way i ended with two endgame teams starting hsr, and enough resourses to roll 3rd just for fun. Same experience in many other games, starting from rerolling for weaver in fgo and HOR in h3rd. In e7 in 2019 i've rerolled for tama + luna, and got wywern 11 clear in 3 days, and to abyss 80 as soon as tickets allowed. It was 10000x more fun than coping with clorina and whatnot and wasting precious molas for trash characters. Only game where it didnt' matter in the end was PGR, because how cancer it is.

Well you don't know which characters you are going to pull, I'd hold off until you unlock the character selector and are allowed to test them out first and see if they are fun for you..then get one of those Crit weapons that you can use with you're chosen unit

There was an issue @ 9 minutes in that caused the table to be unreadable. It was fine when I previewed it but the Export of the video from Premiere caused an issue. It's back up, although under a different link.

​ @im_Tsu I get it but I am f2p, I heard you need 3 teams at end game, I am not gonna pull 3 limited supports, not even one. It's easy in epic 7, It's not easy in genshin, standard pool doesn't get big. And the limited banner has 50-50 chance of getting the character. And the support are irreplaceable, you want them 💯. Damage dealer can be anyone. I remember diluc was still used after 2 years in end game. Verina improves damage, which nor genshin support nor hsr support does. And power creeping that would be so long.

It's also about when you want to clear end game, I have suffered from not optimal team and put all the 2-3 months resources in no fun team. And have to wait another 1-2 months to build the new characters. Basically if a f2p goes with the wind they will suffer with not optimal not fun team and after they get a good team they will suffer even more 1-2 months to build them. And losss the Primium currency they get in end game.

I don't believe rerollling is a waste of time, if you have it and can do it, it's the optimal start, i've played dozens of gachas and the ones i've kept playing are the ones where i had a strong start due to rerolling, some of my best friends dropped some games because their starting pulls were atrocious (like losing the 50/50 at 80th pulls to Mona at the start of genshin) or getting Bronya at the start of Honkai Star Rail but the only DPS he had was Dan Heng and Herta which yeah, Bronya made them a bit stronger but it was discouraging when a Seele could easily take 4 turns in a row devastating everything. I suggest to get the best meta/tier 0 unit that is fun to you and just build from there, if you decide not to reroll and you're not having fun because your pulls were bad, why bother to keep playing?

Pointless for WW for sure, Yinlin is second and prob comes in weeks so she doesn't even exist for rerolling unless you want to waste so much time. You already get 2 of out 5, 5 stars of the game standard wise. You maybe can get another with luck or Jiyan. Plus a good roaster of free characters that seems very decent. Yes you need 3 teams but no you won't reach that point so fast either for sure. No way every character is bad or just mid. and one of the 5 stars you get is a choice. Tbh the only thing worth rerolling might be getting Jiyan with the small amount of pulls, but it takes up to a hour to try, you have to make multiple accounts as you can't use guests or salted emails. You can but at what cost, destroying any fun you could had?

You know, if they brought it to PS5, I'd consider starting an alt on it just to see the Keyboard + Mouse vs. Controller difference. Any particular reason why you're waiting for Console though? Just prefer it better?

@im_Tsu yeah I tried genshin on console and it was more engaging so I do the same with the other gachas if they have a console version lined up. Also there isn't auto battling phones are more convenient for auto battle while live fights I just do on my console in the mean time.

Enjoyed the video, I agree with the concept of *things will look fairly different down the line (or even on launch) so characters who now mean a lot, might not be all that* which is why, for once going into a new gacha, i also decided to not reroll 🫡
