It’s so funny when you mention Alabama and Georgia having some sort of rivalry. Because last night I watched the Alabama (4) vs Georgia (2) college football game where the rivalry was alive and strong…😉…Alabama won.🎉🎊

I am sorry you’re dealing with personal issues but the trail is the best place to deal with it. Allow yourself to feel all the emotions. Cry, scream, think of good times and laugh. Then leave it on the trail. Set some goals on how to move forward and make plans to implement them once you’re off the trail. New beginnings are scary at first but always worth it in the end.

Love that inn! So charming, so southern. All the antiques! 🥰 The raised bathroom floor is probably for the plumbing. You see that a lot in homes of that era in second floor bathrooms. I guess the locals cleared the shelves ahead of Helene. Hope you survived the storm and it didn't mess up the trail too badly. Happy trekking! 🥾

You are strong and resilient. Stay present. l very much enjoy your videos. I never have understood anyone who litters. It's heartbreaking to me. And I am proud to live in southern Virginia because I do think that manners are a way of life in the south.

I think a lot of trash along the road come out of the back of people's trucks. Not tying stuff down so it flies out. That house is so cute! All the quilts in the beds the chairs. I love old stuff like that.

That storm did a number in TN and NC. It's Sunday evening and power is out and roads washed out as well as dams were broken.im guessing Roadrunner hike is finished and she is safely on her way to her mother.

Say what you will about the South, but most folks will treat you with respect and hospitality until you give them a reason not to.

Morning, Juliane. Always enjoy your videos. Hope you have not been affected by Helene while on your hike, especially since you're now in GA. Am praying for your safety. That was a neat place to stay. It did look like a museum, inside and out. Southern hospitality is a real thing. I think the GA/AL rivalry stems from college football. They definitely have a thing going on. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Wow, that place is amazing! Reminds me of both my grandmothers houses in NC. Is it reasonably priced? Did you have to walk thru the storm, we have had widespread flooding and our mountain towns and roads have sustained heavy damage.

We lived in NC for 6 years in the 1990s and every time there was going to be any kind of big storm, there’d be a rush at the grocery store to buy up staples like bread and milk. So I think with the hurricane coming, all the town’s people went to the store and bought up everything in preparation. :)

I lived in western NC for about 7 years and whenever even half an inch of snow was forecast, there'd be people lined up out the doors to stock up on eggs, bread, milk, Cokes and Doritos. As a Canadian, I always laughed myself silly 😉

What a beautiful and welcoming town. Sorry you received that phone call to dampen your spirits, but don't let that deter you. Let it give you power and strength to continue. The food and then the hospitality of The Hearn Inn was exactly what you needed. Hike on. You're doing amazing

Yep, small Southern towns are like that. I grew up in those places. Everyone is family and we just love on you just like God tells us we should dp. Especially if we find out you are hungry we’ll stop everything and whip you up a meal. Some lady had that sewing kit put back for “just in case” and was thrilled to give it to you. If you like Architecture I invite you to visit my small town in Texas and see for yourself , we have tours of them several times a year! We even have a hiking trail too! We have some bed and breakfast places you would like. We’’ll fix you up with some brisket and sausage BBQ too!

Children have a curious habit of tossing things out of car windows, especially their shoes! Alcholic containers are tossed to avoid being inside the car in case of a traffic stop. Trash definitely blows out of the backs of pickups. What's always been facinating is a single shoe in the middle of a road. How does that happen 😂

Both my parents were from the South and loved nothing more than feeding people even if my friends just picked me up to go shopping they tried to give them a meal and if you can't eat at least have something to drink. True Southern hospitality. I'm glad to see it still exist in this troubled world...

I stayed in a B&B that looked very much like that ine, maybe a bit older, but in St. John’s Newfounland. It was really very cool. And the floors were all crooked, and creaky, and the stairway was narrow and crooked! 😂 beautiful old home though.
