Day 12 - Tour de Fleece: What is your favourite fiber prep method?

Day 12: Thank you to everyone who was concerned about my mom's trip--she's here now! There will be a Day 13 update tonight, so look forward to that. Today's topic is a fun one...what would you love to spin all day long? For me, I LOVE spinning batts and I will almost always prefer to spin with batts. But, not everyone will love spinning batts nor will it be suitable for spinning all types of yarns. :)
I don't spend enough time on myself so this challenge will focus on me spinning for myself (mostly) and sharing some personal projects--and personal growth with y'all.

I prefer combed top from washed fleece. The shorts I will card by hand and make small rolags.

I agree, I've lost patience with difficult wool to spin. I used to tolerate it, but it needs to be ready to spin.

I make my own rolags on blending board and hand cards, and I'm a spindle spinner, by choice. I'm looking forward to the arrival of one your bats! As I live on the West Coast of Canada, postal deliveries from other places give me lots of anticipation time :)

Yes! It'll arrive just fine. The pandemic showed that the system always works. Every batt that goes to a new home is like giving up a kitten for me. That little fluff will be well enjoyed, but it's always difficult to part with it.

Have not been spinning long enough yet to have a solid favorite. However, I can say that spinning 2 lbs. of white is boring. I love blended colors.

Whoa, that's a lot of white wool to spin! Best to switch when you can. I love blended colours too. 😉
