Day 13 Progress : Sorry I've been busy for the past 2 days ( usually sunday- tuesdays is my days I do double shifts ;-; )
I tried to practice over 2 hours+ today, I think I'm just too exhausted to focus today since I was working in the morning too and had to go places!
Alot of comments and tips, I will learn them one by one slowly!
Also I changed my FOV as someone mentioned so I can get a sense of speed, so now I just need to get used to it!
Also at the end of the video, you can see me try do donuts for the first time but then, thats when it struck me. the way I drift is always : clutch + gas, then release, catch, bring back close to center, steer to the drift angle again, catch etc but this "bring back close to center" is performed multiple times, that I'm about to summon a 9 tail fox jutsu.
Thats when i realized I've been drifting wrong all along and this video was focusing on " keeping the foot on gas when the car starts to drift, dont let go"!
I will do a better run tomorrow when I am well rested and have my day off :)
Also, some people mentions to use stock, or tuned, because its faster, or do the brake technique for high speed entry!
My goal at the moment isn't to become faster yet, its to be consistent with drifts! I'll learn the types of drifts one by one, until then, I will focus on getting faster!
Also I'm surprised I have an old friend that I've used to play other games with, and he just downloaded corsa and I messaged him and he just bought a logitech G293 too, and hes interested in mountain racing and drifting! So we're learning together too now, I try to give him advices you guys gave me too! He's using the GR86 while I'll stay on the AE86! coincidentally this looks like MF ghost collab now. We tried to race together but we both are PEPE and not ready for actual race. It was a clown fiesta, crashing everywhere xDD no point who chases and whos leading, we're bound to crash at one point
Thank you so much for the amount of comments and subscribes I get, to follow on my journey to learn this, one day we will try it on mount Akina for real~ I read every comments and taking all advices to thoughts and it motivates me to keep trying my best! I didnt expect I'd get this much support and subs ~
Hey everyone
in this series, I'll be driving on Mt Akina everyday until I learn to do it smoothly, and eventually drift. I'll be posting my timelaps until I improve myself, and go to the real Mt Akina and properly drift there, and become a professional racer!
I'm new to sim racing, as its slippery for me compared to IRL
all these videos are for my self improvement, so advices are welcomed!
hoping one day I can race fellow racers too, make friends and race on these mountain pass :)
Apologies if my English isn't the best~
Setup :
Logitech G293 + H shifter manual, Ebay handbrake ;-;
let me know where I can improve, downshifting, upshifting etc!~

Good progress! I got a few tips for you; Think about how and why they drift on these courses. They drive as fast as they can on a imagined ideal racing line. Do some quick research on quick cornering using early, middle or late apex. Think one corner ahead and how you position your car exiting the previous turn. Once you start getting familiar with driving quick in a grip environment, you can start using drifting to help transitioning between corners, enter power earlier on corner exit, turn the car in before a corner and so on.

Dude nice! Your drift exits are already so much smoother than last video and they'll only get better as your throttle control improves. With good enough pedal control you can even drift without touching the wheel! I'd recommend playing around with your neckfx settings a bit. I know having just that bit of extra visual feedback helped a lot for me with avoiding spinning out. Also when you feel like you're having too much oversteer, you can clutch in to try to save the drift. Letting the clutch back out will remaintain the drift when you feel like you've burned off enough angle. Sometimes the drift just can't be saved tho! Lmao

thank you so much! yes thats the goal, to drift without countersteering so much because at the moment, it looks like I panic trying to countersteer and get it back to middle! for the clutch method, is it another clutch kick or we hold the clutch down?
@norman6544
@norman6544 3 ай бұрын
@realTakumifujiwara it's like a clutch kick but hold the clutch down for a little longer than usual, long enough to grip up enough to burn off excess oversteer. If you do it too long the car will just slide to a stop tho.

I see you have indeed gained some decent control. But to further push your Results and Perfection you should look up Tutorials on 4 Wheel Drifting, Slip Angle, Shift Lock, Engine Braking Upshift sometimes into Downshift to Regain Speed, Scandinavian Flick/Inertia Drift, Heel and Toe at Perfect Timings, As well as Dancing Group B Style on the Pedals and Left Foot Braking and when to Use Each. How to Cut the Course and Find Your Own Line are Vital Tools in Touge, Rally, Rallycross, Hillclimb, Track Racing, Formula, and General non Straight Line Racing. These were the techniques I had to learn to set Fast Times and Good Scores in Multiple Games. To further the Speed and Perfection you have to Practice Holding as Much Momentum and Speed as Possible while Keeping the Car Balanced on the Edge of Grip in Hairpins using Slip Angle if you want to Slide Around a Corner Stupid Fast. If you can't Go In Fast then you need to Come Out Fast and learning Perfect Shift Point and Staying on the Edge of Grip so you can Easily Regain Control with Minimal Steering Input. I steer using the Gas and Brakes a lot Once I have Initiated the Shift of the Drift with some Initial Steering Input. Then just try to keep it Revved Enough to Coast me Around the Corner Fast. Since games like these are also Sims sometimes I ride the Clutch for a Second in Long Corners coming in Hot Sometimes with the Brakes Depending to keep the Car from going to the Outside as much since I don't have to Worry about Wear and Tear but only when Racing the Fastest Pushing the Cars Limits. Then let off of it as i'm coming out of the Apex and Floor it on Wider Tracks that Let me Fly into more Open Corners like Famous Big Straightaway and Long Bend Racetracks that come Immediately after a Long Fast Straightaway. Also find the General Racing Line Important as well for Most Corners it's Outside to Inside starting at or Before the Apex or Sometimes Inside Immediately to Outside starting At or Before the Apex. But every track as Different so it's something an Individual has to figure out on their own. Using these type of Lines would also let me Test and Learn the Balance Point and Center of the Vehicle as I'm Driving it Learning in Real Time.

I think you should push your speed a lot more. Don't be afraid to crash, it's a simulator, rally drivers crash because it means they are pushing hard, and it means there is room for more improvement. I recommend watching one of those IRL driving lesson videos on how to heel-toe downshift. The reason I recommend this is because when downshifting before a corner, your rpms will be high and a heel-toe downshift is essentially a clutch kick, with the difference being that your rpms are already high, instead of having that slow build of rpms when drifting. Why should the rpms be high when drifting? It's because if your rpms are high when drifting, the torque from your car having high rpms allows for more flexible drifting. If it's hard to understand, just focus on going faster. Note that more speed means you need to apply brakes harder. Also note that while speed is necessary, control > speed :)
@f0cusolo303
@f0cusolo303 3 ай бұрын
oh yeah and if you are going faster it means you wont need to clutch kick. You'll understand this later.

yesss there were many trial runs, many trial and errors, can spend around 2 hours to find 1 run without the crash! The purpose is to deliver tofu safely every night without crashing ;-; but rest assured I've been crashing alot :"D I've bene using heel toe downshift too! every time on the 0:55 is the moment I downshift to 2nd gear! yes for now I always slow down to drift since im still learning how to drift properly !

I think you're wrong about heel & toe being "essentially"like clutch kicks, the whole purpose of h&t is to not upset the balance of the car on corner entry, while the whole purpose of clutch kick is to upset the balance ( reduce rear tyre grip ) so...

@@unlimitedquickworks7387 huh. I'm sorry i guess. How I've been driving is using downshifts and flicking the steering wheel because I can't use a braking drift to enter a slide. Since i'm on KB&M. thats why I said it was like one. I just described it how I knew it, though I don't disagree with what you said

Try to improve your fluency. I mean about brakes and gas and teach more how to rotate car with brakes (no handbrake) and gas more than using a steering wheel. Its the best way to drive this car like takumi.
