I just love the two of you and learning about the sardines!!! But to hear about the enormous mechanical work you have done to your chateau and outbuildings is truly impressive. You seem to be so much more advanced in that area than many other chateau owners. You are restoring a village and doing it all right. Yes it will be wonderful when you get to do the rooms, but your long term plan is very smart. Thank you again, for these great videos. By the way, the opening of this series is done so well, I get happy when I see it. xx

LOVE knowing this about the sardines! Great pantry! And do you have what is called here in the US…a ‘root cellar’ where veggies are stored in dirt and kept away from the light and damp? Fascinating to see within these days of your advent calendar how extensive your buildings are and all the historical crafts which were carried through all the floors and outbuildings! Love to see that you are supporting local crafting. Thank you for highlighting that!

I've noticed that some chateaux have these ground-floor storage areas, sort of tucked under the terraces, almost like an open shed, only fancier. Technically not a cellar but clearly not living space. What did they call them and what were they for? I guess you could call those rooms your "utility rooms" which is what we in the US call the boiler room, laundry, etc.
