Can you please explain?
@floodo1Ай бұрын
pretty sure NZ has the best control systems
@dadcooks1347Ай бұрын
@@EnglishLawyer it’s hard to explain, easier if you watch the onboard footage of the race (posted on KZbin) watch that and pay attention to the heel angles when NZ are going to windward, they have a windward heel, and when they put the board down to tack, the boat instantly heels to leeward and maintains that precise heel angle all the way through the manoeuvre and on the next tack. They do the same with the mast rotation, the board drop triggers the mast to rotate automatically to the new tack position. The mast rotation one is well known, but the heel angle has not been mentioned that I have heard. It’s amazing to see it working from the onboard footage. I assume it’s auto adjusting the foil cant angle and maybe others as well. It’s why they are accelerating faster out of tacks I think.

Wow, what a completely wrong look at the incident. NZ was on starboard, GB was the keep clear boat and did not move nearly quick enough to avoid a collision. NZ had to alter course to keep clear and the boats still got their umpire diamonds hugely overlapped, hence the penalty to GB. This could not have been a more clear cut penalty if you tried. Take your GB biased-glasses off and actually look at the incident again. Nobody believes that NZ was the at-fault boat there.

Ainslie has form. in 2017 he ploughed into the back of Team NZ during the dial up causing significant damage to Team NZ. He then collided with the Japanese entry SoftBank causing major damage. Both times he was penalised and yet today he nearly did the same thing and it was only pure luck that the foils didn't tangle. Again he was penalised.
