Day 2 at the ocean

Two weeks ago, the man I had a brief but very intense relationship with decades ago passed away from dementia. He was 76. My “young love”. I knew his brothers as well, and one lived locally. I got word from the ex wife (the third and fourth are the same person ). She wanted me to tell the local brother, but he passed in 2023. Anyway, my mind went back there to the early 70’s. Every date we had those few months. Every detail I didn’t know was still in my brain. It was 51 years ago. I have been married 49 years. It’s normal, Margaret. It’s a part of our life review. But I have to tell you it’s made me very sad, but I think more because I am old now, (71) and know such experiences are a part of my past, not my future. And my time here is limited. Have a great week of being a grandma! That’s what counts now.

Margaret, I think as we age we all have to somewhat have to have a walk back in time. My mom use to tell me when I was young, to have a good life because when I got older I would relive it again. Boy was she right! I’m almost 73 and I reminisce and think of my past so often. Mostly great memories, some regrets and a few mistakes but I guess that’s what life is all about. ❤

My son loves to fish and used to do things like that, he could fish for hours and hours. This was back before cellphones too. The things we do for Love. LOL.

In the back of my car is a yoga mat and when I go to the beach I use it to sit on the rocks or sand. I can easily carry it to the beach from my home too.

Always interesting to take a walk down memory lane. I do that every few years. Certainly understand the mixed emotions it can stir but it was our life! Beautiful place! Lucky to be a short drive from the ocean. Glad you had that peaceful time!

Really pretty there! I love that shot you got of the grasses in front of the water. The Atlantic is a different blue than the Pacific, like more of a deep, true blue. The Pacific is more green blue I think.

Looks like you had an enjoyable weekend. My husband and i traveled down memory lane today. We drove up into the mountains to a place we road our 3 wheelers in the snow. Probably about 30 years ago. Think we continued the tradition for a few years until our son decided it wasn't cool to hang out with mom and dad 😊 im looking forwards to your video of the progress on your new home!

I have long wanted to visit the coast along the north eastern part of the country. It is so beautiful and different from the east or west coast of Florida. I doubt I will get up there now but that is one of the things my husband and I were going to do had he lived. He passed away on October 1, 2014 so it's been 10 years now. Three years retired from teaching elementary school in Florida and life surely is nothing like I had planned.

So happy for you that you got some time to relax and regroup, Margaret! The ocean view was so beautiful!! Me, I’m happy that I got an alone weekend myself because since my husband, their dad passed in 2021 my kids, my girls in particular feel like they need to keep me busy! My daughter who usually has me for dinner on Sundays is in Disney with her daughter and her new granddaughter! So I’m alone to fend for myself and I’m very content just being alone in my apartment with nothing to do and not going anywhere, LOL! I’m 81 and enjoy my own company, my son is a lot like me! One out of three ain’t bad right! Anyway, looking forward to seeing your next video and see the progress! I’m so excited for you!!
