As of yet the hedgehogs have never had hands and feet so they don't know what their missing! lol Congrats on the win, poor Mum better luck to her next time, haha. The magnets holding on the fireplace mantle is very clever and will definately make a easier go of it for Sparky. :) It's all looking lovely, thanks for sharing the fun.

You've been very busy with your construction. Congrats on your win on the horses. Nice that you and your Mom share this little 'vice'.

Mum had a family history of race horses (pacers) and she has it in her system even at 99!!

Hello Jill, congratulations on your little flutter win, the race sounds a bit like the big one we have in the UK, the Grand National, there are a lot of other big races but that one is the most famous. It looks like you've been very busy, the wall is looking really good with the tiles, and the first floor with it's jetting will look wonderful then you get the walls attached. I'm sure the hedgehogs won't mind a little extra hibernation sleep until it's their turn to be worked on lol. Have a lovely rest of the week. Best Wishes from Yorkshire, England 🇬🇧 😊

Yep, Melbourne Cup is huge down her. Even though no jumps, it certainly is on the same level as the Grand National

You win the race and the hedgies get a bit more rest! Poor mum … you can always tell her that she taught you all you know about the races! The magnet is genius - do you notice how often I use that word regarding you and your builds?! ❤ Kathleen

Mum loves a bet. Sometimes we watch the races on TV and she and Roger take bets against each other. I stay well out of it!!!

Congratulations on your win! Today is election day here in the states, so thank you for this oasis of calm. I think that chimney is going to look amazing! I am always astonished when you take a handful of Random bits and pieces and turn them into something cohesive and gorgeous.

Hi Jen, well your election is over and results known. My granddad says never comment on politics, so best I listen to his advice. That said, the US has such a huge influence on small countries like NZ, I always hope we don't get lost in all the changes likely. All the very best, Jill

Once in my life, for my 18th birthday, my parents and I went to a horse race (it was 1957). A complete novice, I bet $2 on a horse simple because I like its name, and it was not a favorite. The ticket man smirked and my parents were amused as they thought they would pick a winner. I won and never bet on a horse again, as I'm sure it was either 'beginner's luck" or a birthday gift.

Same for me Maroulio! I once went a race meeting and I saw a horse parading with it's head down. I felt sorry for it, so I had a bet and it won! Wish I could remember it's name!!

Hi Jill, Amazed at the progress you are making and your problem solving ability. The only information I could find about the wooden/slate embellishments on the Tudor houses was that the shape echoed that of the window panes and that the diamond shape was often a feature in the brickwork. Could the round embellishment be a “sigil” or charm. They could take the form of the Tudor rose which signified the marriage of the Houses of York and Lancaster. Perhaps your UK subscribers could clarify this as I am not a scholar of British architectural history.
