Meeting the shepherd and his sheep is wonderful (17:03) We had a similar experience on a pilgrimage to Lourdes, France in April 2017. Your shot of the old man on the bridge (29:30) and the bridge at sunset (32:15) could be scenes from Monet. I would suggest you frame them and put them on your wall. Thanks for sharing. Stay healthy and safe. God bless!

Waiting for your new account so experiential of the stage between Leon and Hospital de Orbigo. Long and hard. But you can with everything. You continue to have an interest in the story and it is a pleasure to walk alongside you along the way. What a wonderful photo of the bridge at dusk! And the sunset will be extraordinary! Just for that and for other things, it is worth doing the Camino. Congratulations and Thanks.

That place in Hospital did the best Sope de Trucha, a trout soup which was capped with a layer of bread on top of the soup. Simple, but so tasty. Can't wait for the rest of your trip!

Oh I love your Camino. I had just decided to walk the Camino frances this September but a very angry virus came to the world to harass us. So, now I have to wait. We are many future pilgrims who have to wait until the world is safe from COVID-19. Next year, in September, I will be 40 and now I think the Camino will be my birthdaygift from me to me 🥰 I am watching your videos with so much joy and feelings. Thank you so much ❤️

I am so glad you took the alternate route. The other way is mostly roadway and traffic. The alternate is scenic and peaceful. I have done both and will always do the alternate route when I do the camino again.

I was so happy to see you posted another episode for viewing. The same way I planned on walking to Hospital de Orbigo after a rest day in Leon via the alternate route AND I had reservations in the same municipal albergue (of course now cancelled). So after watching this, decided when I can walk (hopefully fall 2021) to skip the industrial section out of Leon and take the bus to Virgen del Camino and start from there, so thank you very much. 38 km will be too much for this 66 year old. Loved the part with the sheep and the beautiful bridge and sunset. Thank you so much for sharing! Hope you have some footage of the inside of the albergue next video. It was one of the ones I was looking forward to staying at.

The best thing I did was to remain open-minded about where the journey would take me! I had a loose plan, but clearly changed my mind and it turned out to be wonderful! I would advise the same-it’s good to have plan, but see how you feel and where your heart (and body) takes you. And Buen Camino!!! 👣

It's really good to catch up with your excellent video coverage again. I did the Camino Frances too, last year. You were probably 10 days ahead of me, as I left SJPdP on September 21 and arrived Santiago on October 27. Then onward to Finisterre arriving October 31. It was a superb experience. A pity about the mainly wet weather in the last week but the sun shone for us the day we arrived in Santiago. Look forward, in this time of lockdown, to seeing your remaining videos.

Very nice...your video brings back so many memories. I did the Camino Frances in May/June 2019. Glad you took the more scenic route and kudos for making it to Hospital de Orbigo! I took the northern route and stopped at San Martin del Camino to split the distance between Leon and Astorga. I made it to the albergue before it opened and could have gone on to Hospital de Orbigo. It was pretty brutal walking along the highway for so long. Would definitely do the more scenic route and try to make it to Hospital de Orbigo next time. Hope you took the more scenic northern route out of Hospital de Orbigo to Astorga. Buen Camino!

The River Orbigo IS one of the most important in León province, this River goes from north to south and in his path they live 40%of the province population because of the high fertility of the soil, fun fact Suero de Quiñones lived in a Castle in the town of my grandparents(also in León, near La Bañeza)

Two points: you finally stayed in an albergue where my wife & I stayed and you didn’t show it???? Ugh!!!! Pretty cool place though with all the artwork, eh? Also, I was just looking for the vlog with the walk out of Hospital de Orbrigo and I realized that I caught up to you. Now I’m in suspense!

Lol!! Well, I had every intention of doing a tour when I got in, but after such a long and exhausting day, the first order of business was a shower and nap. I had just enough time to explore the town and grab food, then by the time I got back, people were already in bed and it was getting dark! But I tried to get some footage the next morning! Stay tuned for very dimly lit pre-dawn clips of that wonderful albergue in the next video. I’m glad you got to experience its charm. 😊
