I agree. My sons were born and raised Catholic also. I don’t know if my oldest son goes to church as he estranged himself from me and my family. My youngest son only goes on special occasions. So I pray 🙏 that he and his family start going every week if possible to honor our Lord. 🙏♥️

What hope you give us when we read your wife's entering the Church. She and your family are in my prayers. My nephew at the age of 50 was baptized into the Church as a baby (I am his godmother) and two years ago came into full communion with the church and married a beautiful Catholic woman. One year later I am still listening, watching and reading alone in the KZbin Ascension Presnets channel to The Bible in a year podcast. I did not have enough of The Bible in a year podcast in 2021 that I decided to redo it in 2022. Thank You O LOrd for Your mercy towards me and my family.... even though we live our lives in a sinful way. My husband approves the slaughter of the unborn innocent babies getting killed inside thier mothers womb, so is my daughter, step granddauhgter, and so many other people I know, they also approve of same same marriage, and so many other godless agenda. They are so, so blind that they can not see the RAW UNFILTERED TRUTH. It pains my heart to see and witness that they do not see things the way I see it. The worse thing is that I tried several times to tell they how evil and wicked is the things they support and approve and they vote for politicians who approved of the godless agenda that for me those politicians and whoever else promotes and defend they evil wicked agenda are the minions of satan. O priase The Lord O my soul. Praise The Lord O my soul. God bless and protect those who stand up and defend the real Christian values. The reason it’s not in the protestant Bible is because Luther satanically threw it out of the Old Testament because it refers to Purgatory which is in the Gospel’s anyway. Why is the book of Sirach rejected by protestants, if you know?

@@mrss4328 One reason for Sirach being left out might be for its mentioning of atonement by alms giving for sin which seems outside of Christ's atonement but they fail to see that without Christ's atonement the atonement spoken by Jesus the father of Sirach would be for not. Jesus believed in the promise of the Messiah to save God's people from their sins and could claim such atonement before Christ coming into the world.

I love Ecclesiastes, Proverbs, Psalms, Wisdom and Sirach. Here, Fr. Mike is sharing from the book of Sirach. Ecclesiastes is included in the Protestant Bible but Sirach,Wisdom, Maccabbees 1 & 2, Judith, etc. are not.

October 24, 2023 Round Two Will you please take a moment and pray with me? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

Great reminders about how God cares for us and about repentance. *_ Maccabbees 1 shows the power of Judas Maccabeus and also the sacrifice of Eleazar. Also, all out battles against the people of God and also among the enemies. The vision of Daniel about the Armour and the corresponding elements get revealed through the story. Rome being the last one with the element of iron. *_ Ben Sirach's wisdom is awesome. Sirach 16 reminds us the quality matters more than quantity. One child that follows God is better than 6 that don't follow God and don't listen to parents and/or are sinful. Sirach 17:15 - God helps those who repent for their actions and sins (Sirach 17:24). Sirach 18:15 shows that we must show our good thoughts through words and behavior besides also giving gifts. Sirach 18:19 - We must learn before speak and reflect before judging. Sirach 18:25 & 26 - Never have confidence in your riches (be humble and don't overspend), and never feel hopeless if poor. The situation can change anytime thanks to God.
