Love the idea of speed posing. Makes me thinking of doing gesture drawing with hand drawn art (which helps immensely with speed and accuracy which i'd imagine this would net the same benefits with 3d animation).
@RustyAnimator2 жыл бұрын
Awesome. I'm glad you dig the idea. Yea gesture drawing is the traditional way of training this skill. This just opens up more practice options hopefully in an even more fun way because you can study your favorite animations. Id also say this isn't just for 3D. Why cant you draw these instead? Or why cant you pose out your puppet for stop motion?

What pose was the hardest for you to do in 5 mins?
@LifesGood3572 жыл бұрын
I couldn't finish any pose in 5 min, and I finished them anyway ofc. Needed just a little bit more time :) Cool exercise!
@RustyAnimator2 жыл бұрын
This means the challenge is really leveling you up a lot. If you cant do 5 mins make sure your still timing your self. 6 mins. Maybe 7 mins. But keep the time crunch to help you get better. Then when your a bit faster from the practice -- get it down to 5.

Do we need to post these poses to Discord for feedback, or is this to see how fast we can duplicate the poses for ourselves?
@RustyAnimator2 жыл бұрын
It wouldn't hurt to share your poses to discord for feedback. You'll probably see things you missed a lot easier. Thats what the discord is there for. But if you dont share it - the challenge alone will help you get faster + more accurate with the entire body rig. Also feel free to use other images at any time.

How does this challenge work for 2$ animators? It feels like we’re basically just copying the drawing
@RustyAnimator2 жыл бұрын
what is a 2$ animator? You are copying the image but that doesn't mean your not practicing your posing skill. Your testing your ability to create strong lines of action, balance, dynamic twisting in the whole body, weight, squash, stretch, etc. It sounds like your underestimating posing overall.
