Glad you are feeling slightly better. Be kind to yourself. You have been through a lot over the past few months. In my humble opinion with pulses you have to weigh up how cheap they are unprepared to the cost of cooking them for hours and the energy costs involved. Tins are more expensive and cost the environment but tins can be recycled. Keep a look out on Olio or other give away sites as someone might be getting rid of a pressure cooker at some point. Pressure cookers are good advice generally but there is always an outlay involved to start. Slow cooker will do the job too. These kitchen items are often given away as people don’t use them after a while.

Soy and soya are both identical just different names used in different parts of the world. Edamame beans differ in that they are unripe soya beans. Baked beans are haricot beans. The mushrooms looked like you blanched them before freezing. You don't need to do that. Just slice them then freeze on trays. Once frozen they can be put in a suitable container and used straight from the freezer no need to defrost (taste/texture is better when cooked from frozen) and they will not be clumped together if you freeze on trays first.

I've only recently discovered your channel, have subscribed and an really enjoying your content. I'm not familiar yet with what kitchen appliances you have. Do you have an air fryer? Do you have an Insta-Pot? Do you have s rice maker? They are all great time savers. The Insta-Pot is especially useful for cooking beans quickly. The rice maker really shortens rice cooking time. I love the air fryer for helping me use less oil in my cooking and it's so nice to crisp things up without making my kitchen hot. Maybe companies will send you those kitchen appliances to try out for free for an honest review, that'd be nice.
@CeridwenEdwards-mu2rw5 ай бұрын
Companies don't like honest reviews they only like positive ones that skip over all the shortcomings of the products. I have had an air fryer and a rice cooker both went to the charity shop. Rice cookers don't save time they normally take longer than stovetop cooking. Instapots and other all in one appliances i have mixed feelings about as i do appreciate the space they could save but they tend to be hugely expensive and you can only use one function at a time limiting your cooking options and when they break you have lost multiple cooking options rather than just one thing which you could manage without. Of course charity shops regularly have all kinds of kitchen appliances at low prices donated by people who find they never use them. They often have stovetop pressure cookers too.
@TheBudgetFoodie5 ай бұрын
I don’t have any of those but they sound great xx
@Angel-0025 ай бұрын
@@CeridwenEdwards-mu2rwI don't agree with you there. I've seen many honest reviews done. Butlers Empire, for one, are always being sent air fryers & pressure cookers etc. They use them regularly & say if there is something they don't like, as do other reviewers. They also will say which make & model they prefer to use, be it Ninja or Cosori or Chefree etc. They say it how it is & show how to actually use them & do recipes. I use my slow cooker & electric pressure cooker all the time. (I also have a stove top pressure cooker, but always been a bit wary, as they used to blow up with food everywhere, when I was growing up😂😂 I must admit, I've never had a rice cooker, as I don't tend to eat much rice. The electric pressure cooker does have a setting for it though & it also has a quick steam release, so you can open it quicker, if you want to add more ingredients. That comes in handy if you're making soups or casseroles. I do use my old microwave a lot as well. It's a really big one & fits extra large chicken & whole leg of lamb in it (not at the same time 😂😂) & they only take around 40-60 minutes to cook! They are so tender & don't dry out. Never had a dry one or a disaster & use all my appliances regularly. I've even used the pressure cooker to do the meat & then whilst it's resting, I've used it to steam all my veg, even though I have a steamer......saves on washing up😄 I used to use my slower cooker nearly every day when I worked. Loved coming home to the smell of good home cooked food😋😍

Frogspawn in gravel is a great & precise way to describe chia seeds🤣🤣🤣 That's why they, & linseeds, should be left for the birds to eat!! They are vile!! I have IBS & had to do the FODMAP diet with guidance from a dietician & she told me to eat chia & linseed & what I could do with them. I soon told her what she could do with them!! 🤢🤢 There were lots of things I wasn't allowed to eat whilst doing it. The usual gluten, dairy etc., but I also wasn't allowed onion, garlic, well, lots of vegetables & fruits. Too many to mention. I spent hours doing shopping, checking ingredients & even taking pictures to prove I was following it to the T!! She was more interested in trying to get me to lose weight, than what the effects of the diet were having on me & the IBS. I stuck to it for about 15 months, only to be told, it doesn't work for everyone & you are one of the ones it's not working for🙄🤦♀️ She very nearly got the chia seeds & linseed put where the sun don't shine🤣🤣

I just found this on a quick search, just to check. Hope it helps & also puts your mind at rest. Yes, banana peels are safe to eat and have many nutritional benefits. They can be eaten raw, cooked, or frozen, and the riper the banana, the sweeter the peel will taste. Banana peels are high in fiber, potassium, polyunsaturated fats, and essential amino acids, and they contain antioxidants that may help fight cancer. They can also help with digestion, blood sugar levels, and constipation. Here are some ways you can eat banana peels: Smoothies Add an unpeeled, ripe banana to a smoothie with milk or yogurt, cinnamon, and other ingredients. Banana bacon Marinate the peels and then cook them in an air fryer at 380°F for 6 minutes, flipping and shaking halfway through. You can also fry them in bacon grease to make them crispy and chewy. Caramel Coat the peels in caramel and bake them on a parchment-lined baking sheet until they're brittle. Then, break off pieces and sprinkle them on top of yogurt or dessert. You can also use banana peels in other ways, such as: Making bread and entrees Using them as a skin or hair mask Using them as fertilizer for your garden
