Hi Tonya TKO Show. You do have valid points about not waiting our whole lives just to plan a trip. I've been there. As a Nigerian American, I am truly sorry you had to experience this on the 3rd day in Nigeria. However, Nigeria has a laundry list of non-exclusive problems like insecurities especially for women, fraudsters, thieves and many that would want to take advantage of you as a western/foreign traveller. Even Nigerians like me after several years in Diaspora take extra care when we make trips back home. Nigerian people are Beautiful, warm and welcoming. You will enjoy a vacation to Nigeria. However, take the following advice for when you intend to visit This advice here would be useful as well in any country like Nigeria. 1. Get armed security/police. You will be amazed to know how easy and cheap it is to have one. 2. If you can, travel with someone that's native (say a Nigerian American), they can show you around more and help you navigate the system easily. 3. Secure your driver and residence for the whole period of stay. You can move around in a day and return to a place of security at the end of day. 4. One thing that's new now, there are travel bloggers in Nigeria you could contact that will help you without charge. Its helps you and helps their channels as well. I am enjoying you channel though. Let's all stay safe and enjoy the travels.

Not being funny, but do you have security/someone you know with you when you’re sightseeing/shopping? You should be able to pay your driver a little extra $ to guide you and stay with you when you’re going places. Lovely country and lovely people, but it’s like any other nation that has some impoverished people- you have to be careful and have someone with you when you leave your hotel, etc. That’s the same reason folks don’t leave the resort when they travel to Caribbean nations unless they have a guide or family with them. While there certainly are wealthy people in Nigeria, it’s like anywhere else- pockets of wealth and many who are just trying to make it. We have to remember that other countries are struggling, so Americans and Europeans (of any race) are easy targets!
