Thank you. I jumped ahead to this day as a friend thought it would help me in my current status. Walter Ciszek in He Leadeth Me says this, "His will for us is clearly revealed in every situation of every day' (pg 40). We need to view all things as he sees them and sends them to us, God puts me in situations, places and with people on purpose to put forth His Will. Everything we do do towards the end ... God's will. Give me the grace, God, to offer my prayers, work, sufferings and joys of the day to YOU.

December 27, 2023 Please, do you have just a moment in time to pray for Souls in Purgatory with me? According to tradition, St. Gertrude the Great, was told by Our Lord that each time she piously recited the following prayer, it would release 1,000 souls (or a vast number) from their suffering in purgatory: Eternal Father, I offer You the most precious blood of thy Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the Masses said throughout the world today, for all the Holy Souls in Purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal Church, for those in my own home, and in my family. Amen. In her account of another vision, St. Faustina describes Purgatory as a "great crowd of suffering souls" undergoing purification. Further, she says that the souls are "praying fervently, but to no avail, for themselves; only we can come to their aid" (Diary, 20)

I had a couple of times where I could not do the CIY . Now I am returning to those sections and completing the year. The information gained throughout has impacted my understanding especially in terms of the Holy Spirit and our Mother Mary. I lament that this year of study was not required before I taught 25 years at the 8th grade level. I estimate that 80% of those souls are lost to the prevailing culture. They may have become lost anyway, but maybe more knowledge from a teacher would have given them pause before they became indifferent to God.

@17:23 Fr. Mike quoting C.S. Lewis: "There are only two kinds of people in the end, those who say to God, 'Thy will be done', & those to whom God says in the end, 'thy will be done.' " WHOA! Like a bucket of cold water thrown into the face, that pretty much sums up the reality of the ramifications of the choices we make... WE WILL ULTIMATELY END UP GETTING EXACTLY WHAT WE CHOSE, & too many of us go through our lives time & time again, embracing the temptations of this world & ACTIVELY CHOOSING "NOT Him".😢 [12.27.2023]

I love the analysis of "God's Kingdom" done here. Abstract noun - Kingship. Concrete noun- Kingdom. Action noun- Reign. It's a great reminder of the connection of worship, the Eucharist, and the reign of the Lord God the Father. This is how individual prayer and the Mass both are seen as significant. Through the Mass, the entire Church prays for God's reign to come and Jesus Christ's return. We also want society, the Earth to progress in the present and thus, it's not just about eternal life in the future but our present life. I find the formula at the end to be very helpful. We must surrender our will to God and Jesus. We must also be honest and surrender to God what we don't know and what we are not sure. The endurance to do what God wants us to do is achieved through prayers and faith. Discovering God's will is a big task in itself but if we continue studying Jesus and the Gospel, we find hints. Still, we need to continue praying for God's intervention. Thank you so much, Fr. Mike and Team Ascension. I'm praying for you, Team Ascension and for the fellow listeners. I will continue to pray for you all, dear Catechism in a year family/community. God bless

Basileia =kingship, kingdom, reign. This has been coming since the Last Supper and is in our midst in the Eucharist, which is everything.!!! When we worship God and do his will, God listens to us. By prayer, taking care of the poor, giving self to others we hasten the kingdom and Christ's return. God's grace helps us to surrender our will to him uniting it with Jesus to do what's pleasing to him, as we are radically incapable of doing it on our own. Let us pray for wisdom to discern the Will of God in our lives, with the courage to start and the endurance to continue doing it to the very end, united with Jesus and the power of His Holy Spirit, to the glory of the Father. 🙏 🙌 🙏

The Church prays for the final coming of the Kingdom of God through Christ's return in glory. The Church also prays that the Kingdom of God increase from now on through people's sanctification in the Spirit and through their commitment to the service of justice and peace in keeping with the Beatitudes. Come, Lord Jesus 🙏 The will of the Father is that all men be saved. Jesus perfectly fulfilled the saving will of His Father. We pray that God Our Father unite our will to that of Jesus His Son after the example of the BV Mary and the saints. It is only through prayer, especially at the Eucharist, that we can discern the will of God and have the endurance to do it. Lord I place my will under your dominion. 🙏

14:05 When we give of ourselves to others, God is glorified when that happens. His kingdom is even more present. It's so important that we don't just say this with our words in our prayers. But we actually do this in our actions, in our lives. And that's what all the saints have done. 14:56 The reality is the people who have done more good for people in this life on this world, their hearts were set on the next life. Their hearts were set on the coming of God's Kingdom. Their hearts were set on heaven. Those who did the best, the most good. The saints who did the most good for the most people in this world and in this life, they had their hearts set on that next world. They prayed every day that the Kingdom of God would come, that Jesus would come. Focusing our hearts on heaven does not make us ignore Earth. It would not be right. It is not the teaching of the Church. 4:33 "It may even be . . . that the Kingdom of God means Christ himself, whom we daily desire to come, and whose coming we wish to be manifested quickly to us. For as He is our resurrection, since in Him we rise, so He can also be understood as the Kingdom of God, for in Him we shall reign. " -Saint Cyprian 5:00 "Even if it had not been prescribed to pray for the coming of the kingdom, we would willingly have brought forth this speech, eager to embrace our hope. In indignation the souls of the martyrs under the altar cry out to the Lord: 'O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell upon the earth?' For their retribution is ordained for the end of the world. Indeed as soon as possible, Lord, may your kingdom come!" -from the early Church Father Tertullian 6:00 "Only a pure soul can boldly say: 'Thy kingdom come.' One who has heard Paul say, 'Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal bodies," and has purified himself in action, thought and word will say to God: "Thy kingdom come!" -Saint Cyril of Jerusalem 8:64 "In committing ourselves to [Christ], we can become one spirit with Him, and thereby accomplish His will, in such wise that it will be perfect on earth as it is in heaven." -Origin 9:05 "Consider how [Jesus Christ] teaches us to be humble, by making us see that our virtue does not depend on our work alone but on grace from on high. He commands each of the faithful who prays to do so universally, for the whole world. For He did not say 'thy will be done in me or in us,' but 'on earth,' the whole earth, so that error may be banished from it, truth take root in it, all vice be destroyed on it, virtue flourish on it, and earth no longer differ from heaven." -Saint John Chrysostom 10:09 "It would not be inconsistent with the truth to understand the words, 'Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,' to mean: 'in the Church as in our Lord Jesus Christ Himself'; or 'in the Bride who has been betrothed, just as in the Bridegroom who has accomplished the will of the Father." -Saint Augustine 10:49 In the New Testament, the word basileia can be translated by "kingship" (abstract noun), "kingdom" (concrete noun) or "reign" (action noun). 11:15 The Kingdom of God lies ahead of us. It is brought near in the Word incarnate, it is proclaimed throughout the whole Gospel, and it has come in Christ's death and Resurrection. The Kingdom of God has been coming since the Last Supper and, in the Eucharist, it is in our midst. The Kingship of Jesus, the Kingship of God Himself is in our midst in the Eucharist. The Kingdom as the Church gathers around the altar to worship God the Father, that Kingdom is in our midst when we worship God in Spirit and in truth in the Eucharist. And our Lord Jesus Christ reigns. Father in heaven reigns when we celebrate the Eucharist. 12:26 The Eucharist is everything. "If any one is a worshiper of God and does His will, God listens to him. Such is the power of the Church's prayer in the name of her Lord, above all in the Eucharist. We are praying that the will of God can come be here. Be done on Earth as it is in heaven. And the power of the Church's prayer in the name of the Lord, above all, is powerful in the Eucharist. 13:34 God always hears us. The most powerful prayer we have is the Holy Mass, the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Then when we get to participate, we get to represent the great sacrifice of the Son to the Father and the power of the Holy Spirit. The Kingdom of God is here, and God's will is done on Earth as it is in heaven. Merry Christmas, Father Mike Schmitz and everyone here. I'm praying for you. Please pray for me. Hope you have a light-filled peaceful joyful day. God bless you all!

I will consider my finishing line T Day 207. But will start the cycle again; because: I am well versed in the Bible; it will be almost impossible to jump around; and grab a panache of newly acquired verses; until I am a breathing organism of the care-chism; --AND it is my desire: IT IS LOVE ITSELF; I HAVE THE REST OF MY life in this veery organism of life; FROM THE FIRST DAY I WALKED INTO THE SAINT JOSEPH CHURCH. Like Moses I stopped the project of other bushes; WITHOUT LIGHT; but I got intrigued by this bush that is on fire; and does not burn. I came during Christmas time; and I never had a Christmas tree in my entire life. WHAT A SIGN OF THE TIME TO ENTER INTO THE KINGSHIP, THE PLACE OF BEING FIRE, LAYING DOWN CROWNS AND TAKING OFF MY SHOES; BECAUSE: GOD SAID TO TAKE OFF MY SHOES; NOT MY SOCKS; NO, HE IS GOD AND I AM NOT; I TAKE OF MY SHOES. I WAS AFRAID. I DID NOT UNDERSTAND; and would leave early. I came for 6 months afraid. Then I signed up; and my priest took me on personally because: I did not speak French to join the French catechism. I finished early; and then I joined the French class; to become part of the family of God; - in the ACTION OF KINGDOM WITH THE OTHERS; NOT A KINGDOM TO MYSELF; BUT WITH OTHERS. AMEN.

🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼" Endurance, as you say Fr. Mike , day 361, You are the guide of example. 1 Corinthians 9:24-2724 Do you not know that in a race all the runners compete, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. 25 Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. 26 Well, I do not run aimlessly, I do not box as one beating the air; 27 but I pommel my body and subdue it, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

The Will of God will unfold before you without you even knowing it…..🕊️Peace comes from doing the will of God❤️ Hearts will still break, trials will still come, but God offers us a way to navigate through it all and it is in this process of life that we are sanctified and prepared for Heaven. Hope I could help. God’s blessings to you in the New Year.

Wow, did everyone catch the C. S. Lewis quote about the 2 kinds of people in the world? Those that say to God, Thy will be done & those to who GOD says in the end, “thy will be done”! 💥They made their choice, they did NOT follow God’s Will & they will spend eternity separated from GOD & those they love- ALONE in HELL!!! 🎤⬇️

Yes! Scary, scary! Have you read his book The Great Divorce? It’s a really good depiction of who gets their own way rather than God’s way.

@@elizabethcronin3074 He has some excellent books. Screw tape Letters is a dark comedy almost. It’s the advice of a senior demon to a lesser one on how to subvert a Christian. Can be eyeopening for some. The Great Divorce, Mere Christianity, The Problem of Pain, of course The Chronicles of Narnia. He also wrote a science-fiction trilogy. Many essays & poems. He was a prolific writer & he & J. R. R. Tolkien were great friends. It’s too bad he could never embrace the Catholic Church. He started as an atheist & had a “Come to Jesus” moment, an almost Saul on the road to Damascus meeting.

Does anyone read Luisa Picarretta? The kingdom in the period of the church , the spotless bride

I come to correspond with love for all that the Sanctifier does for those He sanctifies. I come to enter into the order of grace to give a correspondence of love as if all had become holy and to repair for all opposition and failure to correspond to grace.
