Thanks for sharing this experience with us. I'm really enjoying seeing this develop and how you problem solve. Please do a quick flame test on a piece of that vinyl out in the parking lot. (See "the station nightclub fire" for what happens with cheap sound attenuation. By code, most commercial finishes are supposed to be certified/tested Class A-basically non-flammable or very little smoke and self-extinguishing. Anything worse will be big, fast, and probably uninsurable. Sorry, I'm an architect and deal with these issues all day.)
