I'm thankful you are aware you are being called to our Catholic faith. What a blessing that is. What a blessing also that God has led you here to Fr. Mike and our supportive, prayerful community. Ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and guidance as you are on this journey to a deeper relationship with God. Wonderful video today, as always! It struck me that the mercy seat was above the Ark of the Covenant, because at Calvary, there was Jesus on the cross and, below him, the NEW Ark of the Covenant, the blessed virgin Mary. Simply awesome!

I agree with Fr. Mike about the importance of visualization when it comes to the scriptures related to the Tabernacle. I'm so glad to know the relation of these scriptures, Jesus' day of crucifixion, and the blood of the Eucharist and the water of the Baptism. The veil being the curtain of the temple that was torn in half after Jesus gave up the ghost. The bread of the presence is indeed related to the Eucharist. God's laws from the Leviticus and the instructions to Moses both provide some teachings still relevant and also taught by Jesus such as loving the neighbors, strangers, treating all equally, leaving the excess for the needy, etc. The hygiene related rules and food safety rules like not eating the food after 3 days or not eating the meat with blood, etc. Tell us to wash our ingredients thoroughly and also not eat anything that may have been spoiled after 2 days. All things point to Jesus fulfilling the prophecies from the Old Testament. Thank you so much for this analysis and wisdom, Fr Mike and Team Ascension. God bless you all and the fellow listeners

when I was younger, I would attempt to read the Bible cover to cover, and I got stuck on exodus, thinking that I needed to understand how to build the temple. Idk why this was really important to me as a young 20 something, in art school, and having OCD, maybe a little autistic. But also being a procrastinator, I thought I'll come back to this later.

Day 43..the ark of Covenant..I've always been mesmerized by the details in which the Lord spoke, in the manner of how it was going to be built. I've always wondered how they melted the gold to make it satisfactory to be pleasing to God..wow talk about a tough customer? Must have been quite glorious to see! What a massive undertaking..The Lord continues to remind them "I AM THE LORD"..interesting how leviticus parallels the ten commandment with it's demands on most subjects, all I can say is, we have it easy 😀 I will praise you with an upright heart ❤ when I learn your righteous ordinances. Teach me, O Lord, the way of statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Prayers for all who are traveling through this journey of the BIY 🙏 ❤

I felt moved .. The holiest of holy 🙏The curtain that ripped down the middle when Christ died 😢. I felt it was saying Jesus wants a relationship with me and you. Jesus is ready for a personal relationship with me and you. In my mind the description of the Holy place was beautiful, peaceful, powerful, smell of insence and the presence of God. A friend of a friend is nearing the time of her death. It seems harder on those near her than the woman herself. I tried to tell my friend that people with dementia can be seen physically going along the path our souls must take when we die: loss of interest in earthly thing. They are not important in the next life, as we are approaching God. Even communication skills are fading. Not because the dying cannot share ideas, their focus is in the heavenly world. As if the soul is going between all the layers of fabric surrounding the Tabernacle. Fewer things, even food attract the living as their physical end nears. Food will be provided by God, earthly food is needed less. Family left here can only see the person's shell, but they are closer to eternity than the living, so their prayers are not necessarily words as the living understand. This doesn't mean the one passing on doesn't know we are praying around them, so don't stop just because they don't appear to know what is going on around them. By the time death is imminent, the soul is nearing the Holy of Holies and the eyes are on God and life ahead, not in the past, so friends and family may not be acknowledged because they are with Him. Keep on praying. When this soul gets to heaven their eyes and ears will be restored, mind cleared and they can pray for those they left behind.

It is interesting that the Ark was made of Acacia wood, I have heard an explanation for this, that this wood is considered incorruptible , this represents the human nature of Jesus, and overlaying the wood with gold speaks of his Deity, thus illustrating that he was 100% man and 100% God

I give thanks to God for these Bible lessons. I have read the entire Bible several times but many things are difficult to understand or go over my head. I never trust people who tell me they can open the Bible and understand everything and don't need anyone helping them out. I know they are lying.

The priests once a year would sprinkle blood on the mercy seat, here is a picture of Jesus, in that ark were the tablets with the 10 commandments, above it the mercy seat, the sacrifice of Jesus frees us from the law.
