Commenting just to say that me and my gf got a really big laugh out of your guitar playing last video which we really needed that morning as we were feeling rough after a big night out! So crazy to me that anyone would criticise you for that... Great mental fortitude during a tough period - looking forward to you turning this around.

Working on endings will teach you how the pieces really work. It also helps to know what you should be aiming for in the position. Knights are terrible against rook pawns, so if you know that you might be a bit more stubborn about keeping the b-pawn.

You are getting better, slowly but steadily. Don't change your pieces if your opponent has a better or slightly better position. And take your king to the center of the board if the queen and one of the rooks are gone. Your opponent had his king bullying yours all over the board

I like the guitar, one of the reasons to follow your journey is also the chill and relaxing atmosphere that comes with your character. If you feel like playing guitar every 3 moves, do so, it is your channe!l 😄. Keep up the grind 🚀 you will eventually get there, but good things take time.

Nh5 was pointless as the knight can only go back to f6. At 11:01 you got lucky that white didn’t play g4, but you didn’t have to move the bishop back - g6 would work too. I guess the time pressure was too much after 25:06. You could’ve just played Kc8 and you’d be fine. And a few moves later, you should’ve sacrificed the knight for the pawn rather than play Na5.
@willbollman6246

Not too bad today. May have rushed to the knight/bishop endgame by trading off the rooks though.

Your prone to pointless knight moves .. for your info .. you have a long think on knight e4 pros and cons decide that’s no good but moving it is now in yr head so you move to h5 because, I don’t know it can’t move to f4 because his bishop covers it, it’s pointless you almost lose it and spend another move getting it back .. each move has a cost you wasted two on that
@jamonh

Be careful going to the edge of the board with a knight without a sufficient follow up plan on how it will get back in the game.

Dude you didn't need to move your knight, if he takes your pawn you take back. You definitely had to sac your knight as well at the very end and see if you can march your king over to help your other pawns
@vlaer81
@vlaer81 Ай бұрын
no need to sac anything. It was already time to resign.

White got nothing out of the opening. The knight can move Ne4 since the rook must stay on the back rank Then it goes to d6 a good square. Optimum outpost hitting both c4 and e4. You don't understand positional play too well g6 to get the knight back, though he should never have gone there in the first place. So, your knight comes back. So that was just a wasted move. Ne4 seems obvious, Take the pawn, good as d5 pawn was indefensible. Activate king, good. Bf6 is better, I think. He can only your knight pawn with the knight or his king, since it is on a white square. This game should be drawn. While his pawn is on a dark square, so you attack it twice and your king is closer. You are starting to think like aa chess player. Scary! Oh well you made a mistake. Still should be drawn though. Rp on wrong colored queening square, bet you did not know that. Kc1. defends the pawn. That was extremely sad as you just threw that one away, again. Analysis: He has a bad bishop. See why? Tell me why his bishop is bad in this ending. Please. You missed the pawn grab, don't assume a discovered check is death. it can be bad, but you should at least looked at knight takes pawn.

That final Ne5 made absolutely no sense. You just played it because of time trouble, but you couldn't even justify playing it during your analysis. You don't need to deep dive into openings, you need to deep dive into endings.

What you need to realise is when you face much higher rated opponents they are on a losing streak. What works for me is to be aggressive and don’t give them space to breathe lol.

Under every video somebody recommends to generally not put rooks behind already sufficiently defended pawns but on open files instead. Nevermind, Rd8 it is. 6:40

Agreed move before he carefully run through what moving a knight would actually DO .. then he moves the rook to a closed file behind a defended pawn rather than the open e file where it also defended the undefended bishop on e7 that undefended bishop meant the bishop on e6 could not move as well.
@xklepx
@xklepx Ай бұрын
Especially since I believe he said his goal was to double up on C file, he coulda done that in 2 moves with other rook up somewhere first and then other one behind it (instead of the "3 moves" - not including "oh I can attack the pawn" side quest 😜)

Why didn’t you sack your Knight by taking the only pawn on the A file at the end? This game was a complete draw with about 12-15 moves left. I would love to hear why you refused to sack your own Knight to save the game?

You are a better player with queens on the board. I don’t know why you wanted to swap everything off. It was all instigated by you too. In fairness you were in a drawn position, but having just knights and bishops on the board will normally favour the higher rated player as it gets complicated.
