I would imagine that switching back to a regular longsword after a full training session with the Dragon Slayer feels like holding a toothpick? x)

If you tilt your hips forward and bring your shoulders back, you'd have better posture and control. Also, for your structure and balance, do not be afraid to widen your stances and perform more lateral steps as is proper in this circumstance. When you come back on that last plow after ox, you need to pop your waist and foot so as to have a better base for the rest of your body. The second plow you take is also much too crossed over for a resting stance, I'd recommend a lunging thrust to cover a stance correction, but I don't know if you can recover the sword. So, instead of recovering the sword, do not be afraid of dropping the tip and entering the Open Gate/Fool's Guard. Of course, I don't think using it like a longsword is the best thing to do. I suggest looking at Francesco Alfieri's La Spadone treatise and trying to emulate his four guards, as that is more suited to a blade of such magnitude. You've made good progress. Keep going. You have that strength within you.

Going from plow to ox with that weight is amazing. Your progress in this short amount of time is genuinely impressive. I looked back & it looks like YT ate my comments in the last video so I'll put this here. Paulus Hector Mair's treatise on the Peasant's Stick is a great basic form that can be used for any two-handed weapon. Wiktenauer is a good online resource that practitioners use to share techniques & forms.

Thanks! It's definitely not been easy! We'll see how long it takes for 10,000 subs... perhaps it'll be Day 100 by the time I'm done... by then I'll have basically mastered the sword lol

It does look pretty dope, props to the brother who thought it would be cool (they're right) and props to you for pulling it off without hurting yourself! Putting a 40lb sword onto your should doesn't sound comfy, especially with you basically tossing it to move from plow to ox guards Looking forward to improvements, and here's hoping your Christmas is good as well! You'll be improving as always, only a short way left for 10k. Maybe a few days of doing the strength exercise you did a few weeks ago with the cross-body lifting could help build strength for more

Yeah this is definitely a tough journey. But you're right about the cross guard lift training... I should do that more! Merry Christmas

a move you may look into: a spinning sweep from the ox guard. theres a decent example in the moveset for skyrim, the greatsword backstep power attack, where the player model steps back into a spin and carries out the momentum with the sword. if you let the heavy blade arch down it should end up in a comprable position to move back to plow guard.

hi from Ontario. so awesome to see. new techniques are always fun, and your strength is definitely improving. i am curious about momentum lifting.. I'm not sure the proper term, but swinging it horizontally and then redirecting that movement upwards into a partial spin using that technique you used here, into potentially a modified fools stance with the blade down but the hilt up, potentially then transitioning into a crouched guard. it uses the momentum to carry it. not sure if it will work with such a large sword but its a pretty cool combo. i wish i could describe it better. keep going. always glad to see a fellow Canadian sword enthusiast.

The move looks strikingly similar to "uke nagashi" from japanese budo, except thet in budo i usually starts from "seigan" (which is basicaly point guard) and goes straight into the pary spin, I believe the channel "lest ask seki sensei" has a video on that if want to check it out.

from a fellow sword enthusiast, for a bigger sword try a modified hanging stance with one hand on the blade and the other holding the handle?

For shifting giggles you should lean back and stretch out your arms and spin around as fast as you can until the blade picks up enough momentum to be weightless and you'll be a tornado of death LOL I'm sure you can do it if you can hold it in the ox guard

Yeah it is, it's just outside of the cemetery. It has no one around for privacy purposes but out of respect I don't train within it.

I think that you should really focus on training your weaker side. You could even leave out your stronger side. Don't try to impress us for content, such an imbalance could lead to a lot of issues. 🙏
