Patrick, you need more coffee. Free knight at 29:37 wins you the game. I think you need to meditate or something to calm your brain because the chess board seems to turn into chinese writing when you're under pressure.

24:47 (white has Rxd5 - Botez gambit). From there onwards might be some of the worst chess played so far on this channel from both players. This game needs to be featured on Guess the Elo, that endgame is just incredulous.

24:10 you lose a queen or a rook in one of the most common and simple tactic tricks. You missed that in the analysis. Your opponent just check in e8.

Wow watching Patrick's games are more enjoyable than watching some high level gm games. Probably because its more relatable. Edit :" I just noticed he could have played Re8 on 24:12 and that would be completely winning for white" is what I initially thought but at that time patrick hung his queen and taking the queen would be the better move rather than the mental gymnastics I came up with
@MrDanielfff7772 ай бұрын

Patrick don’t take offense to these comments, they’re just very very dedicated to your progress, i think if you focus and try your best, and take your time. You can do it
@danielward70082 ай бұрын
He has zero chance of getting to 2000 unless he hires a professional coach or begins to study the game seriously. Just taking his time and trying his best is unlikely to get him to 1600, let alone 2000.
@shubhamaditya98912 ай бұрын
I lost all of my braincells looking at that endgame. Don’t take it hard Patrick. I said this because I was soo rooting for you to win. You could have captured the knight in that endgame around 29 mins timestamp. Or you could have constantly given him checks, he surely would have blundered sometime moving his king for you to grab one of his pawns or the knight. Anyways you are surely gaining experience so try to solve more puzzles and you will be good to go. That’s how I reached 1800.
@steve.k47352 ай бұрын
Nearly 500 days and STILL the same mistakes you just fixate on a idea like NxP once he takes your d5 pawn reject it then CASTLE instead REALLY .. why the hell don’t you even consider PxP you lost your whole center AND a pawn, the reason is over and over in game after game you fixate on a certain idea and no matter how many times that screws your game up there you are next game doing the same thing, strong players don’t just know theory they are all flexible in their thinking.

Chess can be a great way to determine if you've have enough sleep/coffee/rest/mental sharpness. I wouldn't beat yourself up over this game because it's apparent that something else is happening behind the scenes. (Sometimes just not enough sleep!)

*Just stumbled upon your channel and I love it . But To be honest, I don't think playing every day will get you to 2000 rating. It might even hurt your progress, because you'll be training your brain to develop bad habits. Online games are just for fun, and even though it feels like practice, it's not really. The right way to improve is to focus on a single opening, learn all its variations, and constantly ask "why?". You'll also need a good coach, preferably a master, to guide you during this phase.*

Welcome to the channel! We’ve been saying the same thing for many months now, but alas, nothing changes. Some are amused by this, others are infuriated. I think we are in some strange purgatory here, and none of us will escape until Patrick reaches 2000 or quits. 😂

@Mathemagical552 ай бұрын
Fianchettoing is a good option against the Colle system as White can't play Qd2 and Bh6 and his light-squared bishop isn't doing much against the h7-g6-f7 pawn formation.
