Great to see you two having such a nice lunchtime in a random village pub. A lot of Americans who haven't been to the UK think that a pub is the equivalent of a bar in the US. But as you know, happening upon a welcoming British pub is a unique pleasure. And well done Rachel. Nature clearly prioritised many admirable things when you were designed, however hiking was perhaps not one of them. The way you've cheerily made it to the halfway point has been an absolute joy to watch.

I'm really enjoying watching your travail. Hehe! as a Brit it's really interesting to watch you two enjoy our country. I've seen too many Americans "do" Britain in 48 hrs.(hate that expression). There's so much more to experience past Big Ben - and you've taken the trouble to do it. What you've been experiencing makes us what we are as a nation. It's not very flashy, but we're good with it. You feel you "understand rugby"? Wow, that's blown me away - that's very cool. When you actually "get it", it's just the best game! (Oh, yeah. Oops - Happy Birthday!!) I get the thing about hills - you struggle up them, and then just bloody go down the other side, so then you've got another bloody hill to struggle up! Aagh! 0

I’m going to walk the Cotswolds way next month so that’s how I’ve stumbled across your videos, I was only going to watch one video this evening but I can’t stop swatching. I’ve really enjoyed watching you both. Im English so it’s been fascinating to hear your commentary on the English countryside, I also love how excited you got for the England rugby match. I haven’t taken a look at your full channel yet but I hope you still continue to do these adventures :)

Good last minute decision to go to The Carpenters Arms. Whenever I see two Americans walk into a local British pub while out hiking it always reminds me of that scene from _An American Werewolf in London_ where the two hikers walk into The Slaughtered Lamb pub. But you were quite safe in The Carpenters Arms because the locals seemed very nice and it was daytime anyway. It could be very different at night however. 🐺😱😜

This is close to my home. We have not walked the Cotswold Way as such. but parts of it. Back before I was thirty though, we walked the Offa's Dyke Path, on the Welsh border, 110 miles, so I sympathise with your pain. We carried camping equipment though, I carried less than my hubby, but later we found I was carrying the maximum recommended for a man!!. It was very hot when we did it and on the second day I got nery dehydrated with stomach cramps. Luckily I remembered seeing something about salt depletion and we found a pub and I drank a glass of salty water. Strangely I could hardly taste the salt. Recovered quickly and could reduce the salt each time. One more thing. My other half's friend was mountain biking in the dark in the woods near Cooper's Hill and swears he came across a big cat sitting in the track.

Rachel, My wife and I did the first two days of the cotswold trail to Winchcomb and it was great. We are going back to Great Britain this next summer to do the whole trail. Did you guys use Mac Adventures or Hillwalking tours? It looks like the B and B's really picked up for you in terms of quality. We used Hillwalking tours and they were solid as well but are debating another service. We also did three days in the Scottish Highlands which I would highly recommend. The walk is not much harder but the views are even better. You see less people along the trail however. We went from Invermoriston to Inverness and it was also terrific.
