Day 6 of the solo build project.
We are still going down the hammer route and The structures end is in sight!
It's Saturday and I start off the morning alone with out a camera man, so the footage is a little ropey.
I fix the OSB3 roofing sheets and learn that Polyurethane glue when warmed can get a little excited🤪
The Soffit and Fascia were always going to be a bit tricky to handle alone but a few little improvised props and we are all good.
If ive learned anything from this build, it is that building alone can be a lonely process but makes the mind work a little harder and takes your thoughts away from the problems life brings.
If you want to build one of these and feel confident after watching the series, I have 13 different sizes available on the following link.
A full materials list comes with each pack and full instructions with a host of measurements you'll need as you build.
Thanks for watching🥰
Build your own with one of my build packs

Probably one of the best if not the best series on how to build a summer house from start to finish. Just a Tip to avoid warming up the 5 min glue when it's cold, is to store it inside a cooler box as it works both ways. Best of luck you are helping a lot of people out there.

Really impressive at the speed you're progressing. Pro or not filming adds loads of time onto everything. This is probably the most helpful series of all the videos you've done, love the warts n all approach. Thanks for all the time you've spent helping amateurs get these right.

Your 'normal' videos are brilliant - but this build series in on another level. Every step in great detail. Its exactly what diy'ers like me have been looking for. It obviously takes you longer as you have to plan what to show, what to say and when to show the really important bits. Huge thanks. This, and Robin Clevett's ' The Big Build' series, are THE best build series out there. Unmissable must watch videos. Watching you hammer those nails... it has convinced me to buy a cordless nailer for when I do mine... and then sell it. I've only got just over 500 nails... but I'm not banging that many in manually and breaking my hand!

Good to see you're prepared to put all the hard work in yourself as the boss and even work alone (still injured!) on a Saturday to get the KZbin content for us. I suppose you deserve the Sunday off, though you'll probably spend it editing! I'm not building a garden room (yet) myself, but used some tips from your channel when I built my treehouse last year. One thing I would say to anyone who wants to start a project is just buy the power tools. They make the job much easier, especially for us amateurs, and you may as well buy them all at the start, if you can afford it, as you'll only buy them eventually anyway after having struggled along for the first half of the build. The one thing I didn't buy was a nail gun, given the cost and the chance of me using it again being fairly slim. Hiring wasn't an option as I did the build slowly over a long period but I should have considered marketplace and resold it at the end, good tip. Then again, I did the one screw to hold and pull together (tensile strength) then a couple of nails (for shear strength) approach to my framing and didn't hit my fingers too many times. Worked out OK and didn't have to burn any holes in my fingernails. I'm definitely with you on the five minute glue (no patience). I'm not as good at cutting the sheet material perfectly straight though, but a track and rail compatible circular saw makes that easy.

Love what you're doing. Very informative and stimulating to get my a*s in gear. One thing I was wondering about was why you put on the soffit before the wall cladding? Would that not create a higher possibility of water ingress? I guess it looks better with the seam horizontal rather than vertical, and roof membrane already protects?!? Keep it up.

Great series! One question: I presume that bit of fascia on the back just had to be precisely measure and cut to length first time, with the cutouts on both ends so it fits snuggly to the side fascias. Or was there a clever way of doing this piece that allows for a bit of human error?

Hi mate, question for you. I've bought one of your build packs and have been watching through this series. Is there a reason you've not used capping boards here instead of fascia boards? As you've got the perimeter of the roof done with the timber so would capping boards have been an option? Cheers for all the effort going into these vids, huge help 👍
