You are doing so well! The difficulty level is not as great as in the north, which makes it easier but harder to motivate yourself without fresh challenges. That makes it harder mentally. But you are still doing fine! Hmm, in 1771, the biggest thing that came up on Google is that Regulator War that another commenter mentioned. So I'll say that on July 12th of that year (that's about 0.6 of the year, heh), the first voyage of James Cook around the world ends as HMS Endeavour returns to England after almost three years.

awesome dude the south is so cool. The mountains seem and feel so ancient to me. I have been noticing in your videos that you can really notice a difference in vegetation and weathering compared to where the glacial deposits were. Crazy to think humans roamed that area 10-20,000 years ago.

So not only am I going to enjoy watching you hike the Appalachian Trail I’m going to get an education as well. I’m not sure what the purpose of the aqua blaze would be since relatively speaking it doesn’t knock off that many miles. I’m confused. The museum of archaeology has reported that the last expedition only uncovered leg bones. It was a real shin-dig !! I have a Nobo friend that just summitted. Don’t have the exact number of days yet, but it was about 6 1/2 months.
