Idhyaa Gaming Or the fact that Day9 stream games, cast SC2 as well as working at Artillery and have limited amount of time. Not to mention these kinds of shows are quite expensive to make with this production value given the poor ad revenue. Unless they have sponsors to make up for it, there's no way they are earning any money on these videos. Just appreciate what you get.

Admittedly not the most entertaining match thusfar. The game pretty much boiled down to Michelle slowly gaining more and more of a board presence as Day9 fiddled through his deck looking for that hail-mary legendary that never came. It's pretty obvious Day9 was trying to be an entertaining host, but boy was he carrying it.

Zackary Anderson Creatures you tap for convoke can pay for one mana of that creature's color. Michelle could have casted Triplicate Spirits on turn 3, but she wanted to leave the mana open in case she had to cast Devouring Light or Raise The Alarm

***** Understood :) The dream line of play is that 2nd plains, overflowing the board as soon as you can. Especially with Cathar in play. I do guess you successfully played around a blowout Festergloom though!

Actually.. You could play Raise the Alarm main phase in that instance and use the creatures to convoke out Triplicate Spirits. Your options would not be diminished since you could cast the Devouring Light off the 3 spirits you got off Triplicite Spirits due to Convoke on Devouring Light.

Was at a pre-launch event and my friend was losing to another player. I casually mentioned that "Oh i know! Put more cretures on the table, he has many more then you, that's why you're losing." His opponent laughed, he will most likely murder me in my sleep.

He could have blocked with Netcaster Spider and with the spider's 4 power and the Cruel Sadist's ability, kill her angel...

That's what he was building up for. The turn it killed the spider the first time he only had 2 +1/+1s on it, and Angel was 7/7. The next turn it went to 10/10 :(

So, is it just me or was that Convoke incorrect? She tapped 5 creatures, which reduces the cost by 5 uncolored mana...but the spell is 4(W)(W). Convoke doesn't remove color costs, right?

They do. The rules is a creature of specific color can convoke for its color or a colorless mana.

Since this was the Season Finale...which is kinda surprising you guys weren't able to produce more than just 6 episodes. (It's a shame really...the show is damn good) I again will suggest next Season to include an 8 person Booster Draft. I know I am slightly repeating myself when it comes to this idea, but I know your fans would LOVE to see this. You'll be playing Sean's favorite Format, you have plenty of other Geek & Sundry members that could join him (including Wil and Felecia), or enough friends of Geek & Sundry (I'm looking at you Jesse Cox) that I would almost guarantee would participate. Hell, you could even bring back LSV, or add in someone else from the Magic Community like Brian David-Marshall or Marshall Sutcliffe to join in. More than likely it would need to be a Spellslingers Special. Between Drafting and game play it would probably total the equivalent of a full Season on it's own. Or even if that would take too long and cost too much scale it down to a 4 person Booster Draft. Now fans of Spellslingers...keep on Liking this to show your interest in this idea. The more people that back this idea, I'd assume the much better chance of something like this happening.

I like that they do this. It shows how easy it is to just grab two decks and play with a friend. The target audience here may not be competitive Magic players, but probably new players or the casual that has been away from the game for a while (like another commenter who did not know mana burn was removed).

Understandable, but that doesn't mean a casual player would not have fun doing a Booster Draft. You're making a deck on the fly using only cards you're passing from Booster Packs. It adds another element to the game. You're not spinning a wheel to determine what color(s) you are. The packs, your preferences, and the choices of the people around you will sway what color(s) you play. Plus it would show newer or uninformed Magic fans a different way to play Magic. Most people after seeing or playing a Booster Draft really enjoy the Format. For a good amount of them it becomes their favorite way to play Magic.

Using a creature for Convoke pays either (1) or one mana of the tapped creature's color. Ergo, one of the creatures that she tapped for Convoke was used for its color, which is white.

Think of the mana burn!" Even though mana burn has not been part of the rules for a while now. EloquentandRarity There's only 5 color combination of official preconstructed decks(while the wheel have 10 color combinations). There's no Golgari deck among the 5 so a deck list would help.

one of my favorite decks is the White/Blue deck from the Return To Ravnika block with the Detain mechanic. Built a pretty good deck even tho is no longer standard but still kicks some good butt so long as I don't get mana only or spells only XD I'm really starting to like the Convoke mechanic from the new sets tho. I just bought the set of Fury Vs Fate (or the other way around) and I like how both decks are working.

Interesting how she chooses to play Raise the Alarm over Triplicate Spirits. I guess it could be situationally better because there's the option of trapping Sean with it. However I really feel casting turn 3 Spirits would just use your mana better overall.

DUDE! SEAN! WHY ARE YOU MANA BURNING YOURSELF?! Did you know if a player does not use up all their mana before end of turn they get Mana Burn? Mana Burn = for each mana you did NOT use, at the end of turn you lose that much life!

Sean had no chance. I've said it before, but if there's a reason to play B/G without including masses of cheap removal, it certainly isn't because you want to make room for "gems" like Gravedigger. But in any case, I'm guessing that Raise the Alarm, Raise the Alarm, Triplicate Spirits, Seraph of the Masses is pretty close to the strongest progression that that G/W deck can have. Michelle drew well.

If season 3 does happen, I think deck balance is one thing that could use some work. G/W Convoke vs G/B "Mediocre Draft Picks with Zero Synergy" is not exactly a fair or particularly entertaining fight.

My buddy and I invented a drinking game. It's called Jack of Clubs. You take a deck of playing cards, and you have to guess which card is on top. The catch is, you can only guess the Jack of Clubs. If it's not the card you guessed, you drink.

I think it would be great to see a new Spellslingers series with Day[9] and guests using their own constructed decks that they have made and battle each other. We'd get to see more gameplay mechanics and each persons personal favorites at play! I was just thinking this could be a fun/new take instead of the premade 2015 decks ( im pretty sure thats the decks they were using). Especially since WotC are ending Core Sets after 2016.
