I know it’s nowhere near the same but I’ve had foot surgery this past year, I’m 32, it’s been the hardest thing I’ve had to do, dealing with lack of independence was the big hurdle. Always know to be nice to yourself and it’s okay to take things slow. Hi, I’m a disabled concert photographer and wanted to comment to show you some love. I’m 25 and relate to a lot of the stuff you said. Everyday I’m in pain, most days I use a cane, I have a rail for the toilet too, I’ll have to take baby aspirin daily for the rest of my life, etc. You WILL be able to do things you love, but will have to figure out what type of accommodations you need (this doesn’t make you a burden). Photographing shows and touring can be doable as long as your health team medically clears you. I stay off my feet as much as I can at shows, make sure I have pain meds on me, the bands I get hired to work with know a bit about my health and there’s tons of tricks and tools I’ve picked up along the way.
