UPS is a VERY demanding job, long hours and very physical. The wear and tear on your body really takes its toll after several years. Especially hard on the knees and hips. Back and shoulders suffer too. The long hours make it really tough on family life. With all that being said, you do earn a good wage with great benefits. But you earn every single penny of both. Retirement is pretty decent too. This job isn't for the weak or lazy. I have always said that UPS demands 100% of your physical and mental abilities 100% of the time,.....and THAT will wear a person down over time.

After each package is scanned and marked as delivered on the scanner the app will automatically remove that pin/stop off the map

Vehicles are great! Granted we are one of the bigger hubs so we tend get newest of equipment. Plenty of trucks for all the drivers, I like that I don’t have to load my own truck anymore. Hey, I'm curious. I saw that you left Fedex Express for UPS, why did you decide to leave? Is there a big difference in workload? How does the pay compare to UPS? What do you think of UPS compared to Fedex? I'm interested in becoming a driver and I have an opportunity to start part time in UPS in the warehouse and work my way up... Thanks!
@elexustilmon2 жыл бұрын
UPS was my goal and Express was a step to get there. I do 100% more work at UPS, the workload is higher. Right now, I am only making $1 more but I work more hours so my check compared to Express is about $150 more a paycheck. However, in 3 yrs I will be making over $17/hr more than I would have If I stayed at Express. UPS is a lot of work, some shitty days and some good days, but the benefits, pay, insurance, and union make it worth being there for a bit.
