I mean Chris explained it a couple of times: He doesn't want to do subtitles in post, so he choses to speak as little Japanese in videos as possible. I can somewhat understand that. Abroad in Japan videos are already very well crafted and probably require quite a lot of time. Adding subtitles on top of that would increase the workload even more.

@dreadogastusf3548

@@mpharo4067 (Your having me on, right?) "... they are found on all continents except Antarctica," Cicadas are a very noisy type of insect found all over the world. When a large brood emerges the males make a loud buzzing sound. With millions of cicadas calling it can reach "deafening" levels.
@TheHollowjoint
@TheHollowjoint 2 жыл бұрын
They really arnt tho. they make this constant sound. something between a whistle and nails on a chalkboard. Might be she forgot as growing up here it just becomes white noise but i've had visitors that could not stand the sound. Edit: I should point out i'm referring to Dog-day Cicadas which are an annual cicada and are very common in Canada.
@katylibarnes9393
@katylibarnes9393 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheHollowjoint i wonder if it can also be due to the location? I live in a city where there is still some semblance of greenery here and there and cicadas (or kuliglig in filipino) can still be heard, but not much of a ruckus unlike in the provinces where there are more trees etc. It is amusing to note that the Japanese have names for the different cicadas according to the sounds they make. In my hometown's dialect (chavacano) we call them sirik sirik mainly because of the sound that they make.

My favourite KZbinrs, wonderful company, cats, beautiful nature - weekend SORTED 🥴🥳 Thank you, you've just made my day 🥺💖 And yes, dr. pepper does taste like cherry coke. Funny thing is, plain dr. pepper takes more like cherry than cherry-flavoured dr. pepper 😂

I can't wait to visit Japan once travel restrictions are lifted. I'd have to spend a whole month there with all the places I want to visit! Matsushima looks beautiful. I love the tranquility of the temple and shrines. ⛩️🇬🇧❤️🇯🇵

Love watching the three of you and Norm.I have an affinity for Japan and you all help exhibit the country and it’s culture in a realistic way and yet without making it boring. It’s nice to see how you and Chris and Natsuki have all come on over the years as well,in terms of content creators and also how you have shaped as people. Keep making great content guys :)

To hear the Trash Talk Boyz tell it, Chris is actually organized to the point of obsession. He just also intentionally brings along confounding factors like Natsuki or Joey or Connor (or Pete) and incorporates their insanity into the video's narrative.

I'm gald to hear that! I am probably relocating to CA and I love the sound of cicadas, so it made me sad when she said they're not heard there.

@@bassemb The west coast doesn't have many species (and where Sharla is from only has 1 known type). Our populations are quite low so the noise level is quite low as well. Ontario/Quebec though they have more species and the populations are higher so it is louder.
