When I was young, a friend of mine and I came across a cherry tree where the cherries were so ripe they were falling off the tree. No one seemed to be picking them, so one day we decided to go ahead and take some. I took off my jacket and we used it as a bag to hold them in, and we ended up with WAY too many cherries. That was the day we learned why it's a bad idea to eat too many cherries ... just trust me, don't do it or your stomach will rebel : (

@JanMyler
@JanMyler 4 жыл бұрын
The Japanese prices, for the most part, are not proportionate to the fruit being the most delicious ever. Watermelon being one of the worst offender of the summer season. Two days ago I've bought a rather small watermelon (around 1.5 kg) for no less than 880JPY, that's $5.60/kg. While back in Europe I could get around $0.6/kg, that's some 60 JPY. And no, the Japanese one is not 9x better. It's a pretty normal watermelon.
