Prayers for Alaina as she starts school! This reminded me of a memory that I haven’t thought of in a long time: My mom would read SUrah Yaseen every year for our first day of school! I think we tried to do ourselves too in college but I can’t remember exactly lol. Read it now whenever you get the chance, it’s not too late. Please update us on if she’s adjusting well. I hope she is. Also, please you and Omar remember me in your umrah prayers that I find happiness in life. Some days it’s a struggle and tbh social media is an intense coping mechanism/addiction at this point for me. Stay well and take care of yourself and don’t put too much stress on yourself there

Leena I had 2, first a girl than a boy, 2 years apart. They are both in elementary school still, and I have to tell you as they get older their needs naturally increase because they need you more. Their emotions, feeling, and relationships become more complex. School becomes more complex, there are tons to keep up with and lots of afterschool extracurriculars. Your kids will need you more, but you will also enjoy interacting with them as they become more vocally and intellectually articulate.

Awe, I’m sorry it’s hard right now with Alaina. It does get easier. I’ve always felt like once they are both older it is so much easier with 2 than just 1. That doesn’t make things easier today but there’s hope on the horizon! Hang in there, Leena!

I understand the fears around starting preschool! My daughter started last August right before she turned 3, and she hadn't been around other kids at all. I was so worried, just like you. Kids are so much more adaptable than we give them credit for! Now my daughter has many friends and LOVES school. She goes 5 days a week for 6 hours a day. I know Alaina will be okay, too! She has the foundation of a wonderful family behind her!

I was only buying neutrals and teddy clothes as well for my son but then all his outfits started to look the same. So I started purchasing muted tones like teals, mint green and olive green. Some navy blue and baby blue. Just to add some color to his wardrobe. H&m has such cute stuff. Old navy and gap are some of my favorites too.

Umrah will be life changing in shaa Allah 💕but please be careful!! I was just there and it was so crowded pretty much any time of the day. When you do Tawaf, definitely try to stay on the first floor otherwise it’s very long and if you visit Rawdah in Medina, be extra careful not to go to deep in because there were so many people, it was literally hard to breathe. I’m just warning you because I didn’t expect that but it was still so worth it and the most rewarding journey I’ve ever embarked on Alhamdulilah ❤

Definitely agree with you on it being crowded, but typically early mornings (after Fajr) and late nights (after Ishaa) aren't that crowded. Just avoid Jummah times, as it is impossible to even find a spot to pray during that time, let alone perform tawaaf.

ASA. Just talking from experience, the more challenging places you go, like to restaurants, the more she can learn, it's hard but it will be worth it when you see her getting around it. Use the help of family if you have to. It seems impossible as if climbing a mountain every time you have to go somewhere, but it's really the fear that gets to us. When you see the progress you'll ask yourself what the big deal was. Doing this before the baby comes will also be a great plus. Hope this helps someone!

Not sure if you’ll see this but I totally remember this stage. It is just a stage- a phase. But the things you do now will help. I would recommend taking her out to eat. If she is poorly behaved then she can learn. We loved taking our kids to fancy restaurants on special occasions when they were little-and I did get nervous! And there were meltdowns on occasion. Try going earlier in the evening or at lunch when you won’t disturb others. As our kids got older we were so happy we did this-because then we could literally take them anywhere and they knew what was expected (and we had fun!). Of course this is just my experience Leena and all kids + families are different. Hang in there momma- you are doing a great job!!

My son was the same, not very good with strangers. and we put him in a preschool, it was hard to adjust. like he would cry and say that he doesnt want to go. but when he realize that he can trust that teacher and when he make friends, now he says “why are you picking me early” and on weekends “mommy can i go to school today too”. He now has so many friends. And he do so many amazing activities. but just make sure to say to Alaina that she can trust her teacher and that she will help her. make her feel like its safe and that she is on safe place!! She will get used just dont give up and be strong in front of her❤ sometimes when kids see that mommy cant handle crying and drama they will use you and many many moms give up, so let her know that you are there for her but at the same time that she is going to go to school❤️ Caaant wait for your Ummrah vlogs/reels/fotos❤

Salam, hi Leena, so sorry you are feeling that trapped feeling. I totally understand and remember feeling that. I have 2 boys and when they were both babies/toddlers I literally would just be able to take them on a walk… n then even that was a challenge as my younger one would not hold my hand nor sit in the pram nor walk safely lol But yes nothing is permanent and you will get out of this stage with Alayna and baby boy too, and as always there are lovely/challenging bits with every stage. It’s been exactly a month since we enrolled our son in preschool, it was hard for the first couple times but know he likes it so much and actually excited to go! I did the same thing we started just 2 days a week now we’re on 3 days and it’s been so good. It is for their better not just our’s ! Hopefully it goes smoothly with y’all 🤲🏼❤️❤️

Thankyou for being so open and real preschool will be great for her once you guys are get adjusted. It's important to keep trying with like taking her to birthday parties or out for dinner/ lunch because that will actually teach her out to behave outside the home and it will also help her to adjust having a new baby in the house aswell it's not bad to have natural consequences in place either I know it's definitely a challenge but if you can keep doing everything you can because children learn I know about the terrible 2 stage and it dose it get easier I recently read a book called 123 magic it's a great read and gives you some great tips on children and how to help manage behaviors. My two boys are 9 and 7 and our daughter is 5 mummy have such a hard rewarding job and you are doing wonderful

OK so we're very much in the same boat I've been poorly with the same virus as you for a month as well My eldest is also going to be starting nursery/kindergarten soon and she also doesn't do well around other kids her age and she is, like Alaina, the first grandchild of the family. I have PCOS like you and so I love to follow the kinds of foods you eat to stay healthy I gave birth to my second daughter in June and here are a few bits of advice: 1) Set plenty of time aside for yourself to just relax and unwind 2) I love love love your KZbin videos but only do what you can, don't pressure yourself to keep posting if it's tiring you out. We'll love you either way! 3) If Alaina has a doll then try role playing what a big sister does for her sibling; worked a treat with my daughter

Toddlerhood is no joke lol 😂. There are good days for sure but I feel like every stage is going to have its challenges no matter what. The independence is going to just continue to grow. I can no longer dress my 2.5 year old. She just wants to put everything on herself. 😅 Also it really helps to be their hype person. Like really exaggerate and compliment them throughout the day. Then you’ll see that they copy you and start to become your hype person. 😂😂 Btw I think it’s so beautiful that you both are planning to go to umrah. I’m so excited for you to share the experience InshaAllah. ❤
