I love this 🥺💕. I’m working on my degree and stuff now for Ux and I’m feeling so overwhelmed lately (mainly because I feel like I don’t know what I’m doing) and seeing another POC doing this makes me so happy

You seem to know exactly what you're doing, without having prior experience. That's amazing! How quick was it for you to catch on with your new role? I have confidence that I will be ok, but i can feel imposter syndrome creeping in and I haven't even started bootcamp lol😅
@hellostephaniem Жыл бұрын
🤣 I definitely don't know it all, I'm figuring it out as I go lol The imposter syndrome will be there but if you can get through a bootcamp then you already have the skills & knowledge to get started in any UX job!

Love these videos :) I have a couple questions if you don’t mind! How prepared did you feel when you got into this role? Were there any areas of skill that you felt were vital to this role that you weren’t prepared for? Thank you!!

Your videos have been so helpful! I get like an actual view into the day of a UXD and it's not just a bunch of aesthetic shots haha. Do you ever feel like the amount of meetings you have get in the way of finishing projects and tasks? Is it common to work past 5-5:30?

Yes and no! You definitely need to manage your time well

I'm currently interested in doing the Avoacademy bootcamp or Google Certification for UX/UI Design, but.. I'm nervous about how long it will last, the job hunting market, and if I might need to migrate since I live in the Caribbean or do remote.
@hellostephaniem2 жыл бұрын
Hey! I’m not sure what the requirements are living outside the country, but the job market might be less competitive in the Caribbean?
@caffreydavis2182 жыл бұрын
@@hellostephaniem Thanks for your response. Regardless then, would you recommend doing UX/UI desin for someone new to tech? And are there any recommended persons or channels on social media I can watch to learn more?

Hello Stephanie! I really enjoy watching your video. I’m currently studying at bootcamp. I’m so concerned about the job research soon in the future. I know that having a real experience is really important so I was wondering how you found an internship or project before you land in your current job? : ) Also! I was wondering if you do any mentorship so I can have more advice from you in the future? Thank you!
@hellostephaniem2 жыл бұрын
Hey Jenna! I got my real world experience through my bootcamp. One of my projects was being paired with a real company, so I used that as "internship" experience. Not currently doing any mentorship now, but something I'm, thinking about!

@hellostephaniem2 жыл бұрын
@@therealportlandb Oh I know that feeling well. The best thing I did to get out of my head was to just put all of my ideas on paper. Once my ideas and designs were on paper and out of my head I was able to improve on them. It’s scary but the best thing to do it just start!

Do you really need a Bachelors in a related field to be a UI UX designer?
@hellostephaniem2 жыл бұрын
No, I don’t think so! I would either A)Have a degree/certificate in a design related role. or B) have a course/bootcamp related to design. It’s not about what type of education, but about having some kind go design experience.
