Oh boy, I had this happen twice...in 2 different houses. Then a whole house flood from Hurricane Ian. It is not fun. It's hard work, even if the final product turns out gorgeous. Sending you love and strength.

The trim is MDF which is cheaper than wood. I just lived this same situation and I’m sorry not sorry because you will love it after it’s all finished and repaired. Hang in there 😊

We had this same thing happen to us in January where our fridge on the first floor, the water dispenser was stuck and it ran all day, it’s stressful but you will LOVE having everything fixed and back in order, repaired and done correctly. MDF shouldn’t have been in the bathroom to begin with. It will be okay!

We just lost everything except one dresser in my condo! I had just moved and was almost settled when we had a huge storm! Sewer water from the city I live in in Mi! I have no idea when we’ll get moved back! So sad! Sorry you’ve had this happen! Our allergies went crazy also!! Moving at 75 was bad enough but having to do it again, not fun! Prayers it gets done soon!!

I do meal preparation on Sundays and it's not really leftovers. Mostly it's prepared on advance to make it simple and quick to cook the day you need it. It's really convenient when you work. And have a family to care for😊

Hi Lauren, I am sorry about your water damage. Even though your renovations plans changed to start sooner I am sure it will be absolutely beautiful when you are finished. We just completed our master bathroom and bedroom renovation. We built our custom home in 2000 and it seems as though we are always renovating and updating. We took out a huge jetted tub and expanded our shower adding steam and jets to it. We were not using the tub considering it took a bunch of water to fill it up then it would cool down and I felt like I was draining and filling it with hot water instead of relaxing. I wasn't sure if I would regret it or not. I do not regret it. I am enjoying the larger shower and steam jets much more than I would soaking in a tub. Our project took around 6 weeks some of which was my fault because I looked at thousands of light fixtures, sconces, mirrors that light up and hardware. It seemed the more I looked at the more confused I became. Now it's on to one of our guest bathrooms....projects....projects....projects. Anyhow I cannot wait to see what you do.

Hi Lauren, you can freeze eggs for up to one year. Best method is to crack eggs into individual baking cupcake pans and freeze, then remove individual frozen eggs and package in Ziploc baggies. They thaw out easy and remain pretty much same consistency.😊

Hola. I'm so sorry ur home flooded. Hopefully, ur feeling better as far as ur sinuses. Ur work view is AMAZING. I always watch u on TV, but I had to comment. U have an amazing channel. Ur definitely a natural. I'm glad the water damage wasn't as bad as u thought. It's amazing u found a silver lining in the situation. I don't meal prep b/c I don't like left overs for more than 1 day, but u have inspired me to try it. Thank u for that. I enjoy minimalism. A lot of stuff/items/decor makes me super anxious. @Lauren Nicholsen-Might be mold. Keep vacuuming and washing your floors with Clorox and hot water every day, until the floors go in. Make sure they dry well in between. I also bought a cheap rag mop and several replacements and the ringer for them. Concrete eats mops up.

Your base boards are MDF which is pressed particle board. Which translates into cheap baseboards. It looks nice and builders often use it to cut corners and cost. At least your homeowners policy will cover the cost of repairs etc. I, too am a bag maker Lauren. I hope to have a website by the time I retire in 3.5 years. I just had to replace my shower faucet and shower head on Sunday. And yes I did it myself.

I have frozen eggs two ways. I have just cracked them into muffin tins, freeze and then pop out and put in freezer containers/bags. I have also whisked the eggs and then frozen them in muffin tins and then pop them out. They don't taste different at all, it does have a tad bit more water if you are using them in a recipe.

Yikes. We hsd two floods. The water wicked up into the walls. The insurance company had to cut up into the walls. The took up all the flooring. Had to dry everything with huge fans

Water glass your eggs. 1oz of dehydrated lime per 1 qt of water. Use eggs that don’t have debris on them but still unwashed. Using distilled water is also recommended. Just put the eggs in the water and dehydrated lime mix and you’re done! This method will save space in your freezer and the eggs can last for 2 years. The yolks get runny after a couple months but they’re totally fine and still taste fresh.

A lot of the trimwork is done with MDF which isnt real wood. I only know because my husband does trimwork. I hope you feel better and Im sure it will turn out amazing! ❤❤

I am so sorry you are having to go through this. We had a AC leak in our home and had our showers cut out, walls, vanities and all of our flooring in our home. It’s been a long hard struggle. Depressing at times, but have pushed passed it and kept on living life. All will get better. ❤️🙂😌

I’ve had water damage twice, hired a restoration company who brought in giant fans, had to replace drywall 4ft up. It’s a process that can be lengthy. Best of luck.

I’m so sorry this happened! I don’t know if you’ll see this or not, but since you said you weren’t feeling good since this happened… please make sure it completely dries before you do new floors etc. My sister had mold damage from a leak that didn’t get fixed properly and she has been going through a 3 year battle with trying to get it out of her system. It made her and her family very sick. Love your positivity and videos and hope everything works out well for you and your family.

Builders use a lot of the composite products to keep costs down…so sorry to see this 😢 You need to be concerned with mold from this flooding…maybe this is why you don’t feel well??? Best wishes on the cleanup and recovery 🙏

Omg I'm so SORRY that happened .it happen to us we had to get eco dry to come out we had to put fans for 6 days to dry it faster then all the base boards had to be removed so high up so we didn't get mood to set it the walls .it a job getting it all taken care of BUT good at the end .it will get better and look great in the end

Kale, broccoli, arugula, Brussels sprouts will do well for winter in Napa. I'm not far from Napa, and these have done well for me. I especially love the different kale types for juicing.

Wow, how awful! What a mess! Invest in a few 10 oz of DampRid (Amazon sells them, of course) and keep them in the closets and under cabinets, etc. Even when the concrete looks dry, there can still be dampness. I've been through this. Yuck.

That base board is MDF and is not supposed to be used in wet areas for this reason. Make sure your new base board is finger joint wood. ❤️ sorry you’re dealing with this!

Lauren I can't wait to see the new flooring y'all choose, so my experiance with meal prepping its definitely has its positive saving money on groceries you actually get to use all of the food for the week its also cut a lot of time on your day another reason people do this to stay healthy of course and focus on your weight goal. i have also Purchased from meal prep company that have them for you ready to-go base on your goals. the only down side you might eat something repeatedly but one day I though to myself well my dog eats the samething everyday if he can do it I can do it lol. you have more energy and focus through out the day and you get to go to bed on time.

Lauren, I am now experiencing a similar situation with my bathroom. With the difference that it happened to us after the recent complete renovation we had done to it. Unfortunately, it was the plumbers fault. It also happens at the worst possible time as I am trying to recover from recent surgery on my right shoulder. I wish good courage to both of us! ❤

so sorry to see this.. the shock of something like this can really be disruptive to the energy. But it’s a beautiful house and as you said, you can now prepone all the renovation work etc which you were planning to do. Maybe it’s meant to be finished before Christmas and you will have a great Christmas with no pending major project like those. I had a similar flooding once because of leakage in old bathroom pipes. They had to dig down and change all the pipes and redo the bathroom floor but it was spanking new after that. and what you said isn’t wood seems actually to be MDF board. Depending on how long the water soaked it (and if it was less time), could also be LDF board.

Sorry to hear about the floors- you are making the best of an inconvenient situation!! I meal prep lunch and dinner every Saturday/Sunday. Usually I make 2 proteins and a starch for the week. I do make vegetables daily but that doesn’t take more than 10 minutes in the steamer. Can’t wait to see all the renovations!!

Hi Lauren sorry about your flood. I know you are on a special diet now. But you might want to also look up Fodmap Diet, it's for bloating & constipation or diarrhea. I has the foods that can effect both and your gut health. I have IBS and use this diet to keep everything in check and it also helps me find new tools to see why I am so bloated today and what to not eat for a while to make sure it was that food that was causing the problem. Even some healthy vegetables will make you bloat up. My favorite peppers and onions are devastating to me. Just a thought some of these veggies can be eaten again once cooked or in limited amounts. Something you might want to investigate. Have a nice day.
