A trick to smashing a patty without it sticking is to let one side cook for about 30 seconds, flip, then smash. That 30 seconds is usually long enough for some crust to form that will prevent the spatula from sticking.

Good tip, I’ll have to try that!

I LOVE that you got the thermometer! Also - you can use parchment paper or saran wrap between your hand and the meat if it gives you the ick!
@DevrinBradford27 күн бұрын
That is such a good idea! I'll try that

You can try adding some bread crumbs or panko to the turkey patties to give it some form.

Hey Devrin, you have to get sleep man! Ive noticed watching your videos that the days that you oversleep or got 8 hours of sleep were the days you loss weight on the scale. Your metabolism needs time to burn and the best time is when your sleeping. If you feel like your stuck, try adjusting your sleep schedule and notate if their is a difference. Keep it up man, and dont over think it!

With forgetting to take the meat out in the morning...I wonder if cooking the burgers/proteins first and THEN freezing them would work better for you? Then it's a matter of simply reheating while you cook the veggies/carbs. Wonderful, and funny, to see you continuing to learn to cook.

That's actually a really good point, thanks!

Garlic powder does add a salty flavor, it has no salt though, I've no idea why. My mother sautéed spinach for me and it was always too salty. One day I mentioned it was salty again, and she said she added no salt, just garlic powder and pepper. The next time, she added just a pinch of salt and pepper, no garlic powder, and it was perfect. The garlic powder was the culprit. Again, no clue why, I know I have a different taste ability than my family. Back in grade school we did those little chew strip tests during science class and everyone said it had no flavor and I was the only one who said it was bitter. There are a lot of foods that are tasteless to other people that are very strong to me like cucumber. I think it's a genetic thing.

Interesting! I’ve never thought about it that way but now I’m gonna pay attention!
