I looked at this way I have been running/lifting for a long time. I never was the biggest or strongest nor the fastest or farthest but I could always do something respectable in both areas. Gotta love that your body can go crank 10 miles and pick up heavy shit. All on a random day.

Got out and started running again and slowly getting faster and pushing over 13 mile long runs. 197 pounds I lift heavy, speed training, longs runs. I stay discipline and hit 5-6 day trading weeks and super locked in on eating habits and getting in all the right supplements. I’ve been back at it now for about 8 months and I’m starting to feel great again. Honestly I’ve never heard the term “hybrid athlete” I guess when people ask I can just tell them that now 😂. I love BPN. Customer and subscriber #gonemore #stayhybrid

I’m curious to see because it seems like most of these “hybrid” guys of course not all, seem to start as a bodybuilder then transition to running. So they just have to maintain their physique they’ve already built. I haven’t really seen anyone who started doing both always seems like they trained like a bodybuilder first
@bigbarraful2 ай бұрын
It’s an easier transition than the latter, that’s prob why. Plus what’s the point in looking good if you can only f@&k for 5 mins before having a heart attack. Get that cardio up boy.
@huckhatch8935Ай бұрын
Exactly u can’t build that much while staying lean with all that cardio, in my experience at least thru wrestling, football, and weightlifting, but u kinda can maintain it

Honest question here. I see lots of hybrid athletes doing running, bodybuilding, etc. why not powerlifting instead of bodybuilding? Seems like it would combine with the running to be more effective?
@corbinclark68504 ай бұрын
The only thing I can think of would be the bodybuilding route will be slightly less maximal lifting effort as far as weight on the bar. You can focus more on hypertrophy vs straight strength which would stress some of the joints ie knees more than the overall volume focus of bodybuilding.

Pretty much. Look, I dig the 70s Pumping Iron/Prefontaine chic aesthetic of the video, but the message is completely lost when anyone who has been around the fitness block can recognize that it's just another fake natty slinging supplements. Supps have their place, but whatever benefit the supplements give to performance and recovery are blasted out of the water 100x over compared to exogenous hormone injections.

The guy literally said he did bodybuilding before this and some of y'all don't think steroids are in the equation? Just because he won a 'natural pro card' does not mean he was natural 24/7. From what I've seen, once anybody crosses that steroid line once then there is no going back, becomes that much easier to do it again whenever/wherever it seems necessary

I am not trying to be insulting or take away from your work ethic at all… but is this physique possible naturally? Dude has mass and is very lean. I struggle to do both and am genuinely curious
@noahx2565 ай бұрын
Yes, cause as he said, he just started hybrid training for a year, before that he trained for bodybuilding competitions etc, so his body is already built by the time he incorporates heavy cardio. Plus he takes nutrition very seriously as he mentioned he at least takes 2 pound of meat every single day plus supplements.
@brotherakuma5 ай бұрын
Yeah it's doable. The hard part is committing to the work everyday
@ajbroo5 ай бұрын
you ccan achieve the look. ive been lifting weights and gained size, when cutting I run and it makes you lean. you just have to watch your nutrition and make sure you're eating enough to maintain/gain size while running and lifting. if you're doing it naturally I will mention that your recovery is going to be shit, and you're going to be tired and have sore joints. so take recovery seriously
