I'll give you a helpful tip about the tent. Don't let anything touch the sides (like your sleeping bags appear to be) this will keep your tent drier inside when it rains. Also get a can of water repellent spray like Camp Dry or Scotchgaued and spray the outside of the tent every 2-3 months. We have camped for years and these 2 tips really help. Congratulations, Eureka tents are great.

I have a great respect for you both tent camping full time. A friend and I just returned from a five day ride to Tennessee in which we tent camped. Setting up and tearing down every day or two, in addition to long day rides wears you down. I am a few years older than Chris but she seems like she is full of energy all of the time. Safe travels.

I'm surprised you're not sleeping on Helinox cots. My youngest son had to have one because he couldn't sleep on the ground. The first place we used them was boondock camping in the mountains outside of Pahrump, Nevada in a downpour and even though the water flowed through our tents we were high and dry during the nasty, lightening, stormy night. Good to see Rich working on the Road Glide even though I ride a poor man's Moto Guzzi.

I really like Lander Wy. If you’re still there, you should try The Middle Fork restaurant. The Holiday Lodge has camping around back by the creek, convenient spot to explore town. The Lodge has showers and laundry (was $10 to camp last time I stayed). The city park has free camping too.

I just returned from a 3400 mile road trip from Nevada to Texas and back. Weathers getting to be a bit brisk in the mountains of Arizona and New Mexico. Things went well except for 2 flat trailer tires within an hour of each other. I did discover the bedroll pack that I created was not sufficient for the temperatures I encountered. Back to the drawing board on that. Had a few bike problems to overcome so some maintenance days in the near future. I need new clutch and front brake lever bushings so my cruise control can set and stay set. Probably a new right handlebar switch cluster. The starter button headlight cutout doesn’t always release permitting my headlights to come on after starting. My big radio speakers aren’t working. They died and every now and then come back on for a few seconds before dying again. That’s going to require more troubleshooting. So many problems that, for a moment, I thought I was back on my Harley instead of my Goldwing. 😂😂😂

I camped at a KOA in Wapakanetta, OH last June, and I was the only person camping. I asked the owners why, and they said $5 a gal gas was the main reason. The park was almost full with RV’s and full time summer campers, but they said the high fuel prices are hitting young families hard, as expected. The RV’rs were mostly retired and on fixed incomes that did t effect them as much.

Much easier to take fairings on and off on the bike is on a center stand, obviously you don’t have one but, if you did it would be much much easier to reinstall when the bike is actually level like when it’s on us understand, they are kind of a pain in the butt
