Hi James, loving your content. Its really useful for me because I'll be starting my Physio undergrad course soon. I see you took an MSK role within a private practice. Congratulations on that!!😄👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 How easy was it to get that role with you being newly qualified and also, do you see yourself staying as an MSK Physio?

Hey, I'm a physio myself, but I work in Germany. I'd love to come to the UK one day. Maybe you can make a Video about the healthcare system...how everything works in the UK and the qualifications one needs.

I'm curious about the similarities & differences of Physios in Germany vs. in UK. Do you have to take a qualifying exam to be able to practice in Germany? I'm from Southeast Asia btw. Cheers
@pialotta77052 жыл бұрын
@@nonchalantnobody Hi, yes u do. In Germany everything is kinda changing right now. At the moment the vast majority has a so called "Ausbildung". So that basically means a 3 year practical and theoretical course with a big exam in the end. You can participate in this course even with a lower education lvl at school. A few years ago universities for PT started to open, so now more and more people do a bachelors degree, they still have to take the same test as everyone else tho. The education system isn't science based enough. A lot of outdated things are being taught witch is super annoying. Over here physios also aren't really validated in the health care system. We don't get to make many decisions, we theoretically only act on the behalf of the doctors.

@@pialotta7705 Thanks for sharing, Pia! In the Philippines, this is the timeline to become a Physiotherapist: -4 years Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy -pass the national 'board exam' to obtain license to work. This license must be renewed every 3 years. -there is a Master's degree if you want to proceed but most of us don't. Also, the pay isn't good here that's why we prefer to work abroad :( -We can only treat patients with referral from medical doctors.

@@nonchalantnobody Yes the payment over here isn't great also. Its not like the lowest payed job ever but coincidereing that the education is pretty expensive here it's just not enough. We don't have to refresh every 3 years but we kinda need to do extra certificates all the time...and those are expeeenssive :D

Which country is better for a physio to work at... UK or Canada?
@ArrayRay_physio Жыл бұрын
I wonder the same, im a final physiotherapy student in the UK. I like the UK for the NHS despite the poor pay and the many other struggles that come along with it, I enjoy what I have seen on placements. However, the idea of working abroad is very appealing to me. Canada is good for their pay as the physios are mostly private from what I've been told. The work life balance is better and from what I've been told you're less likely to have to crossover roles (e.g playing a role of a OT or HCA etc) Ultimately what you would deam to be the better country for physio is depend on what you wish to achieve. Did you pick a place in the end?

@@ArrayRay_physiobro is physio hardest subject? to learn?

@grrpast5060 I wouldn't say it's the hardest subject personally. I think like with any course it takes dedication and has it's hard aspects
